The service was so bad when we came in there were 9 of us. We saw a table so we asked them if it's available the waiter got all fussy and say that there's no availability for 9 people. But in the end we got the table. The moment we sat down the waiter came at us and said everyone... More

I met a friend for tea and cake at this place. The waiters are rude and not helpful, plus the cake was tasteless. One of the waiters bump into me and didn't apologised, they served us really slow and with a bad attitude . They add 12.5% service charge to the bill

An attractive coffee shop. Slow service, nice cake and coffee. It's quite expensive but we expected that for a place on Shaftesbury Ave.

I hate to leave negative reviews, I much prefer to be positive - but the only thing I can say that's positive about this establishment is that it's clean. That's about it. "Service with a smile" is a well known adage, and clearly one that has passed the ladies of this establishment by. I have rarely met a more unfriendly... More

This small cafe was expensive for what it was. The gateaux turned up first with an unacceptable amount of time for the coffee which when it turned up was wrong, an espresso instead of a latte. Another inordinate amount of time passed before the cream tea arrived which had two minute scones literally two bites each and a further delight... More

To be fair I wasn't expecting much and it did not disappoint. Wasn't feeling adventureous so i ordered the spaghetti bolognese. It was just sustinence. Could easily make better at home. The decor was good though. I thought it was a very nice looking restaurant. The staff were very polite and the service was good. Got 25% off with a... More

Asked for a table for one and the waitress walked away from me so I thought this was going to be another place with solo dining problems but it seems her boss was coming back from the toilet so I was being left to be dealt with by her. I was seated without a word or a smile. Serving person... More

After a great day out in London with my daughter and husband we stopped in at this lovely place for coffee and cake. Mille fueille was amazing and my daughter had their tiramisu which was very nice indeed. Always like a wee jaunt to a caffe concerto when in London. Also opened till 11pm so was handy

Enjoyed the surroundings and the brunch but very disappointed by the perfunctory, unsmiling service from the staff. Even when we were leaving and saying effusive thank you''s, they made no eye contact and said a brief goodbye. This seemed to be the same for all customers so at least it wasn't just us! Shane though as this could be a... More

Went here (2 adults and 7 year old) in between the theatre and visiting Ripley's. I had a cream tea (pot of tea, 2 scones, jam, clotted cream, chocolate cake, glazed fruit tart & raspberry macaroon) which I would recommend and I saw a table next to us with a fruit platter which looked appealing. Only downside was the staff... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
