Good pub food, large portions, good service and (most surprising) normal provincial prices. Of course it was noisy but what do you expect in a C of L pub at the end of the working day?

This pub has the typical selection of good English beers. The food was good as well. Filling and tasty - but nothing to set it far apart from other good pubs. The place is clean and there are nice smaller rooms to sit in. I would go back here and eat here again as well. Try it. Not a bad... More

Popped in here for an afternoon drink before heading back to our hotel and decided to sample the tapas which was very good. Options of 3 dishes for £10 or 5 for £15. We went with 3 and had patatas bravas, grilled garlic prawns and chicken wings all of which were delicious.

Don't bother with the bacon cheese burger. Clearly, not home made. If you want an awesome burger, go to the Draft House, 200 yrds away. My pint of Adnams was nice though.

6 of us went for a late lunch and we were well looked after by Sophie. We decided to pay for our drinks separately and split the meal and it was no problem to them. The ford was excellent - will definitely be back

We went there for dinner, looking for traditionnal british atmosphere and meal. And it's what we were offered. The pies were very good, tasty, and served with vegetables. The red wine (Argentinian Malbec) I drank with it was good, even though a bit expensive. Very friendly and efficient service. Would definitely come back.

House wine does not mean the cheapest wine - do not be fooled! Always busy but you can always get a seat. Friendly and easy.

We were visiting the church close by and what a surprise the place is, very elegant, nice and clean toilets. We ordered different tapas, all wonderful but the chorizo with cider and honey was the best! Good beer, good food. It gets crowded though, after 5 so better book a table. Highly recommended.

What a gem of a pub on the fringes of the City, where the exterior does not give away its warm and cosy charm. The service was excellent, as was the choice of beers, great food and atmosphere.

My husband and I stopped at this busy pub for a drink and it was only 6:30pm, but we wanted dinner. We found a spot near the bar, but a waitress quickly found us a table in the dining room area despite half of it being closed for private parties. The waitress (I wish I can remember her name! she... Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
