I visited here in mid April. The restaurant itself is relatively understated but the food and service aren't. We had a seven course taster menu and every one was delicious. I had the vegetarian menu and it was stunning - from the omelette and tortellini to the gnocchi and feta salad. The food is well presented and, whilst it is... More

My wife and I with my son and his girlfriend for Saturday Lunch on Easter Saturday. We booked a £30 pp 3 courses plus a glass of Prosecco each. Complementary breads were delicious and they brought extra as we had devoured the initial batch. A further freebie of little blue cheese and Parmesan light dough balls were scrumptious. Starters of... More

The restaurant is situated in the Westbury Hotel. A bit dark interior but a very nice restaurant with good space between the tables. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff, who were all very friendly and helpful. With the champagne a few snacks were served followed by a seven course menu with matching wines. Two menus were offered, one vegetarian, the other with... More

It's always a pleasure to return to Alyn Williams at the Westbury. The fixed price lunch menu is the best value in London. The quality of the service and finesse of each dish is outstanding. The standards are always high but this was higher than I recall. The AW take on fish and chips was amusing - no chips but... More

We had a beautiful taster menu experience two nights in a row at AW. We stay at the Westbury as we like to quaintness of the property. It is in a great location and an even greater bonus that AW is at this property. The food was absolutely lovely. On night two we wanted to take a londoner friend to... More

Not too much to say, other than this restaurant is a must visit for anyone who appreciates top quality cooking and a level of service to match. With so much choice in London I feel this restaurant is often overlooked, but that is a foolish thing to do.

This place oozes class. From the calm, friendly staff to the grown-up decoration, the quiet atmosphere, table linens ... I could go on: it's an oasis in a crazy city. We ate on a Friday evening when the menu was either the vegetarian or 'normal' tasting menu; one of us has matched wines (which, incidentally, were not only unusual and... More

We had the tasting menu and matching wines which was fantastic value for a restaurant in Mayfair. I have eaten at Petrus when Alyn Williams headed up the kitchen and he has taken this level of cooking to the Westbury. Special mention must be made to the great service we received.

Having messed up a reservation at another restaurant and convincing a friend to retry Alyn Williams following a bit of a disastrous visit earlier, we went. And both of us were so pleased that we had. The tasting menu was a real tour de force and the service professional, competent, and unobtrusive without being standoffish. You could taste every element... More

We also had seen Alyn on Masterchef and wanted to try his cuisine. Sadly, the lobster tail with taco had been designed especially for that event, so was not available. But we were not disappointed. Relaxing ambiance, perfect food, attentive service, everything you would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. Could not fault the meal in any way, and want to... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
