Went to the area on Record Store Day and having queued for two hours to buy new release vinyl went to 1001 for a late breakfast. Food was good quality, well cooked and value for money - the full English was a real find.

I work on Bricklane and once I went to 1001 for a cocktail after work on a Thursday evening. As a local I understand that you need security at the door, eventually to search bags and check you ain't carrying anything dangerous. However, I find...More

A group of friends and I went to a very enjoyable Funzing event, held in the function room of Cafe 1001 this evening (11/4/18). The event itself was very enjoyable indeed, however the barman responsible for serving the guests in the room was just dreadful.....More

Great find on Brick Lane. Good selection of sandwiches with the bonus they do a small hot buffet for £6. I had the chilli and it was very good. Ambient atmosphere in this converted Victorian style industrial unit. Would go again.

Plenty of places to stop for a coffee in Brick Lane, but this one looked a little more interesting with it's layout and style. Don't go here if you are thirsty or are in a hurry. Three drinks took more than fifteen minutes to prepare...More

The waitress serving coffee behind the counter never once cracked a smile, but preferred to chew her lip in what might’ve been a post-e gurn. Who knows. With no smiles, sticky tables and a post-apocalyptic interior it’s probably best avoided. (If anyone wants to convert...More

Been coming here since 2008 and used to enjoy having breakfast. Not anymore. We ordered portobello sourdough toast with beans. Staff member arrived with mixed order and we got tinned mushrooms with beans and slice of bread. When said we ordered portobello mushrooms got told...More
