This restaurant has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and fantastic, friendly staff. It's so nice to visit somewhere where you can hold a conversation without shouting! The menu is great and all enjoyed our food. Will definitely return.

Second time at the Crooked well. This is exactly what I look for when in London. To start with the venue is lovely.A traditionnel pub but nothing drabby.Good crowd. I had the beef on the rib.Slowly cooked and just peeled off the bone.Excellent dish. Plaice was also very well prepared. Chicken pie is exactly what you would expect.Good crust and... More

Waiting at Table is not a subservient profession at all. When done well as it certainly is at this restaurant then it can make the customer feel like a king besides the actual enjoyment of a delicious meal. I believe the name of the Manage was Harry and the waiter who served us was Levi. Both were superb, The welcome... More

Our friends held a party here after their wedding in Peckham. The wedding group took over the whole of the upstairs restaurant and were served a really delicious roast pork with great spuds. Chocolate pud with ice cream was to die for. Lovely, incredibly hardworking staff and a great atmosphere. Very good light bites later in the evening too. Thank... More

Every time I have come to this restaurant the same man (small, white, balding manager) has treated me like a criminal. Maybe it's about the way I dress, or talk, but this one particular man is not very receptive to my custom despite my average spend and his air of servitude. The man in question ignored my requests for service... More

Management response:

Hi woodland w, My name is Harry and I am the manager in question at the Crooked Well. I remember you from yesterday and I really feel like you have misread the situation here. There is absolutely no reason why you would not be welcome and I don't believe you were treated as such. All of our exchanges with you... More

Not the cheapest but one of the nicest Sunday lunches. The pie to share was delicious. Friendly staff. Best to book if you want to eat.

Visited on a Thursday evening for a quiet drink and some food. Food was excellent but even more impressive was the well knowledgable barman and could suggest the perfect wine to accompany my dinner. After dinner, hung around at the bar for some delicious cocktails which he suggested. Overall it was a lovely buzzing atmosphere with charming staff, would defiantly... More

Visited The Crooked Well on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and it's everything you would expect from a trendy gastro pub, e.g. quality of service, decor, choice etc etc. A couple of things I didn't like were firstly the cost of a pint of soda water and lime, which was £2.75! Daylight robbery to be honest and no way should... More

We returned here after a visit about a year ago. Good food and wine and service, and a step above the usual pub with restaurant fare. Steaks were fabulous. Keep up the good work Crooked Well!

We needed to be in camberwell as were celebrating at a friends house. We stopped here in the afternoon and it's such a good find. The toilets aren't the best, but prosecco came with an ice bucket and we could sit outside and enjoy the first sunlight of the year. Would go back!
