Second time coming here. Both times the lovely young man serving us was very helpful and friendly. The food was delish BUT they had run out of our first choice both times. Aside from that though my mother and I had a lovely time.

This pub has gone downhill. It used to be a dead very for a decent pint and good choice of well kept, varied, cask beers. However this is my second visit either side of Christmas and once again it has really disappointed. Four cask pumps...More

Four hand pumps, one ale on. Turned out cloudy and sour. Had to get two barmen to agree it was naff. Offered something else. Chose one . Told it was another quid. Making that one £6.80. Won’t be back!

Don't come to this pub for food!!! We used to come here all the time but they must have changed management/chef recently. Our Sunday roast for us and the chips and squid for the kids were all horrific. A microwaveable Sunday roast would have been...More

Stopped with a coworker after deciding we didn’t want to eat at a ritzy restaurant in London. We stopped in and order dinner and a few drinks. The food was good and the service was good as well. Definitely recommend it!

Thank you for taking the time to shout about us, Justin. We're so pleased you had such a great time, and that ritzy resto's loss was absolutely our gain. I hope we're able to welcome you again soon.

I visited the Phoenix on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised by the warm and friendly atmosphere inside. Drinks and Food were of high quality and extremely fairly priced for a London Venue, however as good as the atmosphere and drinks were it was...More

Description
A Denmark Hill pub of mythical proportions. It's not often a pub can make the earth move. Abuzz with friendly banter and offbeat charm, you'll find The Phoenix benefits from more than just good vibrations from the throng of trains below. Like its mythical namesake, this quirky venue rose from the flames of the great Denmark Hill Station fire. Remnants of the building's original character blend effortlessly with the cosy furnishings, resulting in a look as sublimely eclectic as our speciality drinks list, and as timeless as the defunct yet impressive station clock hanging pride of place from our high-vaulted ceilings.
