Nice cake and hot chocolate. Quite long queues. Some interesting desserts. A good place to visit if you are at the Tate Britain.

Disappointing really. Sandwiches etc a bit expensive- obvs they know you are trapped here as no other cafe nearby but no need to up prices as much as they have. What about this for a laugh- in members cafe a v ord looking open sandwich costs £8.95 so we sought refuge down here and prices were the same! Bowl of... More

Found everything to be as described by Larry C with the most terrible coffee we have experienced in quite some time. Took back first cup as it seemed to have stood and stewed for some time. Replacement cup not much better and at £2.50 for a small cup this is not a place we will be back to sample again.

Fresh soup and a stew of the day. We would really like China cups instead of cardboard cups and I would personally prefer the cakes to be covered as people sneeze or cough

Three of us visiting the Tate Britain exhibitions had coffee and pastries here before taking on the paintings. Worth noting that there is free tap water outside in the cafe once one has come through the serving / paying section. It's a pleasant room with plenty of quite comfortable seating.

Needed to eatduring my art class so went here. On offer selection of sandwiches, salads, drinks, cakes and hot food. Nothing special about my cheese and chutney sandwich other than it cost me approx £5.00. My colleagues had the hot food and said it was good but also expensive. Theyb do have a restaurant may visit that next time.

After an (as always) excellent wander around the gallery this cafe provides good tea and cake in an agreeable setting and among civilised people. I'll keep coming back.

Visited the Djangoly cafe downstairs at lunchtime. The vegetarian selections were limited and visually unappealing so opted for a croissant and coffee. The people flow is awkward and there were long, slow moving queues. When I reached the front of "my" queue I was bumped as the card machine on one of the others wouldn't accept any of the three... I had a lovely tea served there and though cafeteria style it was still elegant and delicious. i asked for a recommendation on the tea and was offered a perfect suggestion, there silver leaf jasmine tea. the serving pcs were acceptable and the double headed spoon charming. I looked in the girt shop after to see if they sell them... More

During a visit to the magnificent (and free!) Tate Britain this spacious ground floor cafe (with outdoor tables too) is a perfectly adequate option for a quick lunch. However it's not a gourmet choice or a destination eaterie. The best description I can give is to tell you to think of a Sainsburys supermarket cafe, but with much nicer furniture.... More

Staying in Pimlico

Neighbourhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
