It's pretty dark in here and the tables are lit up, which gives this place a very different atmosphere from most restaurants. It's quite comfortable and service is fast and friendly. They offer free kids meals and everything tastes very fresh. The bread was a bit on the dry side, though. As most venue restaurants (this one's inside the Science... More

Great place to recharge your batteries, with good food served quickly. The menu is limited but what there is, is of high quality. The wine list was also a bit limited and not as such a high quality as the food. If you can, try to avoid 12:30 - 1:30 as you may well have to wait

This is the second time we at a meal at the Deep Blue. The first time we had a great experience. The customer service and food was great. They had activities for the kids and a separate menu for kids. The second time it was very difficult to find staff, so the service was disappointing. They add a service charge... More

Reasonably priced but at a cost. Food was stone cold and returned, chips were very overlooked and the chicken wings were left untouched as far too sweet. If the food was hot when served it would have been excellent value but on this occasion it was disappointing.

Deep Blue is deep in the "back" of the museum on the ground floor of the Wellcome wing. It's a table service establishment which makes a nice change for the science museum. The menu is not earth shattering, burgers, chicken, salads etc, but it was well prepared and served by attentive staff. The tables are light boxes and the rest... More

We were in the museum and fancied a light lunch. We ordered a slaw, mixed red pepper soups and potato skins with applewood cheese sauce. The pepper soup was watery and no body whatsoever- for the princely sum of 5.50 The 'slaw' was just grated carrot and a bit of grated veg with no mayo (otherwise it's not slaw, it's... More

The usual dilemma "I am hungry" when at the museum was solved by visiting Deep Blue restaurant at the extraordinary Science museum in London. The atmosphere is very nice with the deep blue window in the background and lighted tables. The menu rather unexciting with a very standard children's menu, pasta, hamburger or fish fingers and of course chips. The... More

Service was friendly and helpful. Seating is school dinner, Wagamama style, bench and tables. The menu is a bit strange giving it a varied feel - eclectic things yet traditional fish and chip type things too. We had a classic burger b (never will that be my first choice but the chicken burger was Cajun with a celery slaw). Brioche... More

We had a good lunch at Deep Blue. Service was attentive, friendly and efficient. Food was good; prices are very reasonable. We found the menu a little too limited - burgers. Salad, fish and chips, burgers and that's about it.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
