Staying at a nearby hotel - The Cavendish- we decided to try breakfast at this restaurant. The service and qualify of food was much inferior to what our hotel offered. And Franco's was more expensive. Perhaps we just hit a bad day. The sausage was of low quality. Service was slow.

Nice house wine, nice garlic bread, average pasta and average lamb shank....shame I got overcharged by a tenner but maybe I should have checked my bill at the time and not when I got back to my hotel.....

My friend and I went to eat a pizza and we got taste card. The service was rude. The waiter took the order and he forgot cutlery and glasses of another table on my table. When he came to take the order I asked how much was for the extra topping and he said £1.50 but on the bill was... More

I read the other reviews here and wonder if I'm in the same restaurant, my Wife and I go when we are in London and we both love it. service is great, food is great, wine is great. It's not the cheapest Italian you'll ever go in but it's in the heart of the west end so it's not going... More

The price are really expensive, the food is not fresh at all. You need to order extra vegetables or chips even if you order a veal. They only bring you the plate without anything. They will also charge you for water even if you ask them for tap water. Don't go there, the waiters are arrogant and bad as their... More

I thought I had reviewed this place back in February but my review was removed because I had selected the wrong restaurant. I've just been back in London at the weekend so I went back to get correct name and location. I visited pre-theatre with my boss the night before a business event. We were running late and it was... Some restaurants enjoy a privileged position but they do not add anything more to it! This is exactly the case of Franco's. Literally two minutes from the busy Piccadilly Circus, too close to major theatres, looking traditional Italian, is an obvious choice for before- or after-show dining. But the overall experience is very poor. Apparently friendly, the service is rather... More

After the theater do not be tempted by the outside appearance which gives the impression of a comfortable authentic Italian restaurant. The food is poor at best. Mussels were inedible. The pasta with tomato sauce was no better than a school cafeteria. There was an overall grubby feel to the place with dirty floors and bathrooms.

We choose this restaurant as it took the Tastecard and was close to the theatre. Food was fine but the service was slow considering the restaurant was not full. When I asked for the bill, I was given a hand written bill with the total circled. It had not taken into account the Tastecard discount despite advising them beforehand. The... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
