Had a wonderful dinner on a Saturday night here with my husband and two teenagers. The food was excellent, we purchased 4 entree’s (tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, lamb curry & aloo Gobi). With two appetizers our dinner was under $67 minus tip. We took...more than half of the meal home and are looking forward to leftovers!More

We called in here after a few pints in shepherds market. We’ve never been here before so we thought we’d give it a try. We had a few beers couple of starters and a curry. The starters were a bit small but the curry was...nice and the bread was nice. The service was pretty quick overall it was an enjoyable meal. The prices were pretty good not too expensive considering we were in Mayfair it was quite reasonable actuallyMore

Small restaurant in the basement in Shepards Market. Nothing fancy which is rare in Mayfair. Menu as you would expect from your local take away, but that was what we were looking. The prices reflect this which is good when you consider how expensive all...the restaurants are near it.More

The floor space is very small, but great if there are only 2 of you. Friendly service with the usual choice of curries. Good for a quick mid week supper.

Went here having stopped in the area. Firstly the place was tiny and no room at all which made it feel like you was sat with other people. Service was quite shocking we had popadoms before we even had a drink. We had to actually...ask them if we could have a drink. The food was ok nothing special. The naan bread and chapati were terrible, they were tiny, ridiculous price and looked like they were straight out of a packet. Wouldn’t go againMore

The outside appearance belies the deliciousness within! The menu is amazing, the spices are so tasty and the meat, Nan and rice are amazing. The family that runs the restaurant are friendly and welcoming. The food was so good, I went back again during a...short visit to London. I highly recommend it.More

About 18 seats. You need to walk sideways into the toilet!! Very old - here over 35 years so doing something right. Very tightly packed. Indian music - terrible wine list- great food list. Food was v.good. Recommended.

Mirrors all around to give a feel of space. One enters a tiny foyer and goes down a narrow staircase into a super tiny sitting area . One has to admit that the tablecloth/ cutlery etc were awesome. Food was a disaster- tasteless and unauthentic...for an Indian palate. The chicken tikka and hot fluffy naan were the saving grace. There was one waiter who was super efficient but could learn to smileMore

Portions are small. Double check bill. Higher prices listed than on menu. Cheeky. Food ok. Doubt I return. Better places in the area.

If you are looking for a hole in the wall, dive-ish, great Indian food restaurant, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a spacious elegant dining experience go elsewhere. This is a tiny claustrophobic basement restaurant with maybe 7 tables but...the food is great! We found this place 10 years ago when my husband had an Indian food craving while visiting Mayfair. I don't like Indian food but I was going to be a good sport. I had a great meal here. We just went back and were determined to eat here again, hoping it was still in business and it was! And it was just as we remembered! All the tables were full and everyone there, except us, were locals. Once again we had a great meal, I had the Chicken Dansak with lentils, basmati rice and a beer. They don't have a full bar, only beer and wine. The service is fine, this is one of those quirky, divey, hole in the wall places it takes a certain person to appreciate, the food is delicious. Have an adventure and give it a try!More

Arrogant racist unfriendly owner & staff.. would never back there and never recommend anyone to go there. And it’s small conjusted place which cannot seat more than 15-20 ppl As mentioned in another review the owner refused to serve because we didn’t order 1 dish...per head (we were group of 11 with families & kids) and got agitated when my friend challenged him on this policy and literally tore our order page and asked us to get out. We were shocked and tried to argue but realised its of no use and decided to leave. He has no sense on how to behave with customers and especially when there are kids around And I am sure this would have never happened has it not been AsiansMore

Like other recent reviewers, I would emphasize that the restaurant is downstairs and in a tiny room. No mixed drinks, just beer and wine. I did not find it dingy and the waiter was attentive, not rude at all. Instead, the food was very good...and -- considering it's in Mayfair and close to a lot of expensive places -- quite reasonably priced.More

I've read all the bad reviews. Yes, the service is a bit surly and curt. They are not going to win any points for graciousness. But they're not the nasty creatures the reviews make them out to be. They just want you in and out....And, frankly, you probably want the same. The place is tiny (about 7 tables). It's also not the dingy den some folks are making it out to be. It's fine. But you're not going to want to spend a lot of time there. And that's ok because here's the thing: the food is really good and, given its location in the heart of Mayfair, really cheap. And that's the case even if the naan wasn't the freshest and the rice may have been re-heated. It's tasty Indian at a good price, especially the vindaloo and korma. So if you've got a hankering for Indian & you're in the neighborhood, I'd say give it a try. We had no problems at all.More
