Went for my husbands birthday as we had been a few years ago and loved it, it lived up to the same fantastic atmosphere and service as last time. Husband went for the ribeye and it was fantastic, melt in your mouth. The mash is out of this world, could of had a bowl full. That is definitely a side... More

This was my third visit to celebrate my partner's 50th birthday. We were really looking forward to the food but the rump steaks were a bit tough and the chips burnt. As always the service was impeccable but for what we paid, the food was really poor standard. The rump steaks I buy in Lidl are much better and a... More

Great service, but food very poor. Chicken was raw, ribs too dry. Maybe had too big expectations....

2nd visit. First was amazing. This time my wife and I ordered the chateaubriand medium. It turned up cold and blue. We sent it back and waited whilst our sides got cold only to get back the same piece of meat that had each slice seated. Not great. Still "cool" and now with cold sides. 2 bottles of wine and... I would like to say that this restaurant is outstanding! The food was amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the view of St Pauls - simply stunning. We had the prawns and calamari to start and I can honestly say these were the best we have ever tasted! Presentation was fantastic and the sauces were out of... More

Ate here twice whilst I was in London a couple of weeks ago. On both occasions I had the steak which was simply put - perfect. On the first occasion the plate also included bone marrow served on a thin piece of crispy toast with a parsley and onion salad. Sadly the second time they didnt have the bone marrow.... More

Average meal, all 3 courses and the wine were okay just nothing special and certainly not worthy of the price, plenty of far better options around London. We had awful seats where we were practically sat underneath a stand where waiters/waitresses stood so it was as if they were stood over us the whole meal and then constantly brushing past... More

Had an awesome steak here, definitetly bring your appetite as the portions were very generous. Great salads and amazing view of St. Paul's Cathedral.

The kids were served chocolate deserts the size of a postage stamp - I thought nouvelle cuisine was long and happily dead. The disappointment of a 12 year old is hard to miss. My lamb chop was mostly fat. The crab had almost no crab on it. The service was sloppy, getting two orders wrong with substantial delays which seemed... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
