There are some issues with this pub...it’s on the pricey side (esp for food), it can get overly rammed on match days, some of the tables are poorly positioned for the screens. Thing is, the Alex just has that special something - an atmosphere. That...More

Hey thanks so much for the review TGG. We're definitely not the cheapest you're right, but I'm really happy that your overall conclusion is that the whole experience and atmosphere is worth it. I agree about the tables and the screens, and about how rammed...More

I’ve been going to the Alex for years but only just gotten around to writing a review. Yes, The Alex is a Young’s pub so it’s slightly pricey and has some of the elements of familiarity that a Young’s homogeneously has, but it’s also so...More

I don't know how we managed to miss this review, too much messing around on the Twitter page I should think! Thank you so much for the kind words and recognising what we try and do, as I always say it's easy being nice when...More

What a brilliant review, we are so chuffed. Thank you! Without our fabulous team of people things just would not be the same, they are the heart & soul & backbone of the Alex. Thanks again and we'll see you soon.

Came here for a family Birthday lunch, and was not disappointed. Had a really lovely vibe, food was gorgeous although quite pricey. The service was a little slow, although not terrible. I would definitely come here again!

Had 2 roast dinners and a bottle of the cheapest red wine £55! The roasts were OK but nothing special. The chilean merlot was below average.
