Food smelt great from outside and it was busy so we waited for a table. Got seated upstairs .... waitresses were unhelpful and the chef cant take the skin off fish. I had steak pie which was ok, my husband had fish n chips which was watery and full of bones. Don't bother unless your desperate!

My husband and daughter raved about their fish & chips; I was happy there were gluten-free options, so had ham & eggs. Very tasty! We loved the traditional decor and enjoyed reading the framed historical newspaper clippings while we waited. Both the upstairs and downstairs areas have so much character.

Came here for lunch on Saturday the food was ok apart from it ring a bit pricey £12.95 for fish and Chips with peas. The service was slow and the food took to long to arrive also I felt rushed as soon as I had finished the plate was took away like a flash.

This place is old... has a lot of history behind... really good stop for an english beer (served without gas and room temperature)... and some fish and chips... the place is full but we had no problem to get a table to have some lunch!

The St Steven Tavern is situated close to the houses of parliament. We just had tea and coffee but I could see that they served breakfast and snacks.Typical English atmosphere.

A lovely pint of Ale with fab Fish and Chips just across from Parliament in the heart of London. Fair price for central London, good service and quality food. Busy but full of character.

It seemed as if everyone in London was walking to the bus or tube station. We popped into this tavern and there was room for us. We had been here about three years earlier on a previous visit to London. The place was just as clean and service was prompt. We just had a drink but the menu looked like... More

We visited this tavern a couple of times over 3 days. Unfortunately for us, both times were very busy which showed its huge popularity and is situated in a great location. At busy times, such as our visit, don’t expect to sit at a table if you’re not eating food. If you do sit down when someone has finished, the... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
