A real nice choice of different small and large plates of fresh food, all sounding very tasty, in the bohemian Exmouth Market and its street food temptations - but if it's cold, the Caravan is more comfortable than eating in the street. The menu is changing regularly. Very helpful and smiling staff.

Went here for brunch today with friends. Service was a bit slow, and as we arrived at 11.15 we were in between the breakfast and brunch menus so had to wait till 12 to order from the lunch menus. Food was well presented and tasty, if a little over priced. It was a nice place but not sure I'd go... More

There were 14 of us family and friends and the meal consists of a sharing starter and nibbles then a main course of your choice and a pudding, the food is very different, heaps of sharing dishes and my main meal was very good, the pudding not so good but that was down to my choice of pudding. A very... More

Busy cafe in Exmouth Market Had an extremely strong (for me but not for my companion) coffee with a delicious sweet doughnut. Highly recommend. Lovely staff too

My scrambled eggs on toast were great the smoked salmon on top was really smooth and it melted in my mouth. The staff was lovely and if you are an early bird like me, you will definitely get the table.

I went to the Caravan for a late brunch, just before the kitchen was closing. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The ambiance is lovely, bright with simple, yet cozy interior. I had the baked eggs plate with spicy sausage, in tomato sauce with yoghurt and flat bread. It was nice, but i would have preferred the yoghurt on... More

I've been in the UK for nearly 3 years now and to be honest, it's hard to find great coffee. Caravan is an exception to the rule. Plus their breakfasts and juices are amazing. I highly recommend the ginger shot for a healthy wake-up call!!

I went with a few friends and we all enjoyed it. Both food and service were good. Lots of variety and the plates are easy to order and share as and when you feel like having more. Plenty of choice for veggies (not sure about vegans but looked like a couple of options may have been vegan). The golden syrup... More

Good quality food, well cooked. Had oxtail that was superb, shrimp and grits that was fun and some croquettes that were divine. Just lost marks for the continual topping up of the water glasses; hard to have a conversation when you keep on being interrupted. Second visit and would go again.

Went here with my wife for lunch on Monday after a good long walk along Regents Canal. We shared roast cauliflower, mackerel, labneh with flatbread and cornbread. These are all classed as small plates and all were delicious, the seasoning was just right. We were quite full but shared the chocolate torte with peanut butter ice cream, one piece is... More

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
