Had the pleasure of dining here for lunch and what a treat it was. When you enter the place seems quite dated and old fashioned but the food is definitely very modern and of the highest standard. The menu doesn't have a huge range which is what I prefer, less food options but all perfectly done. The staff are attentive... More

Amazing dinner with a group of friends. Strongly recommend to arrive early and have a whisky sour at the bar. The best I've had so far!

An excellent experience! Service wonderful from all staff and Restaurant Manager very attentive and helpful. Calves liver cooked to perfection which is not always the case. Will return.

A really beautiful venue. More intimate than the impression given by the photographs and with a happy, buzzy atmosphere. The tasting menu with the paired wines was knockout - the crab lasagne of course, and the sea bass especially. Whilst service was a little slow (but was acknowledged without prompting) the waiting staff were charming and helpful - the sommelier... More

Incompetent staff has ruined the evening for us. Once, but never again will I be booking this restaurant. The place looks tired and need a clean, especially the bar.

The atmosphere at this restaurant was fantastic, wonderful service very friendly staff so polite. The taste of the food was divine and presented so well. Nouvelle Cuisine.... But we came out well satisfied ! As this was a celebration of 50 years of marriage they treated us to hand made macaroons and truffles...yummy. This was a treat from our son and... More

Our first visit to Galvin LC was a weekend treat and an excellent experience. We had the Menu Gourmand - a 7 course tasting menu that featured three of the signature dishes of the restaurant. The first - Dorset crab lasagne - was maybe the star (my wife's favourite at least) although I really liked the tagine of Bresse pigeon... More

Our children decided to pre book and pay for a celebrity 40th wedding anniversary meal in this lovely establishment . On arrival we were warmly welcomed and placed in a lovely table on the mezzanine floor in this beautiful building . The waiter and waitress were extremely attentive . Description
The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. The restaurant is one of the few restaurants in London to hold a vertical list of Hermitage La Chapelle wines.

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighbourhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
