Tried the beer here and was disappointed to to find it was flat. They poured another and this too was flat. When I asked for a refund they made no fuss and paid up.

Visited last Friday for lunch and although it was quiet it didn't spoil the occasion. The Italian waitress was both knowledgeable and friendly and was definitely a credit to the establishment. The food was amazing we had 4 starters between 2 of us which was plenty on a lunch time the stand out ones been the Tuna and the confit... More

There are about half a dozen good pubs in this vicinity, After a day of museum hopping, this were a good way to finish up. The George had a good selection of local beers and ales.

Popped in for a quick pint or two whilst sightseeing. Decent and not too expensive pint for London. I'm sure it's popular with the courts across the road!

As someone who regularly eats at some amazing places including places with Michelin stars, I would say I'm used to quality dining... the Pig and Goose is up there with some of the best places I've tried. I booked the upstairs restaurant for four people and all of us were equally delighted by the experience. The service is top class... More

A must visit place for gourmands! Every dish ordered by me was a masterpiece. If you look for large portions - it is not the right choice. If you want new tastes experience - just try it!

Booked the upstairs restaurant, The Pig and Goose, for a client lunch. Have to say, what a fantastic place! The decor is very well done and I loved the open kitchen upstairs, didn't stop for a drink downstairs but will pop in as it looked great also. Our food was wonderful, well presented, great flavours and clear plates all round!... More

Having wandered past this pub many times I never realised therein was a super restaurant. Lovely, understated decor. Very calm atmosphere. And the food! We were a party of 7 for lunch and EVERY SINGLE starter and main course was a hit. I was sorry I wasn't hungrier (having scoffed a couple of biscuits with mid-morning coffee). So I ordered... More

After an evening walking around London at the end of a business trip I can across The George. Away from the throngs at Piccadilly, it was busy and friendly. Not tourists but students and lawyers from nearby. I had a pint at the bar and the fish & chips. There is a full restaurant upstairs but it was perfect for... More

Description
The George underwent an extensive and considerate refurbishment of the ground floor bar and first floor dining room. This saw the creation of an elegant and sophisticated restaurant; The Pig and Goose and a private dining room.

The stunning Pig & Goose restaurant, lounge bar and oak panelled private dining room is on the first floor of The George, where we serve classic British food for both lunch and dinner daily, with a 90 bin wine list that focuses on Old World classics, however, also showcases the very best in New World wines. We have a cheese trolley featuring 7 British cheeses to pair with our large range of ports, whiskies and brandies. The Pig and Goose is open to seated drinkers and diners daily.

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
