Simple menu, steak, salad and fries. They give you half a portion first and then the other half if you want it. Slow. Slow Slow. Took forever to pay.....

No reservations are taken, and there is often a queue. There is only one main course item on the menu, which is steak. The steak is served only as pre-sliced, slices, with a standard sauce and as much french fries as you want, plus a green salad with walnuts; the latter is served before the main course, as per the... Hi Jonathan, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. In 1959, Paul Gineste de Saurs purchased an Italian restaurant called Le Relais de Venise with the intention of developing a market for the wines produced by his family’s winery near Toulouse (hence the name) Italian / French theme. To keep the operation simple: he retained the Venetian... More

I hadveatennbefore in the sister restaurants in Paris and in Washington DC I like their model only one dish, steak. Imalways liked them and the one is no exception. The only thing that I dont like is that they do not take reservations.

A friend, who is a big foodie, took me there for a surprise. She said 'you can't book, there's not a lot of choice to eat but you'll love the hustle and bustle of it'. If like me you are always sceptical of three and four page menus and believe that, the fewer the dishes the better and fresher the... More

easy to order you have only to provide the way you want you meat to be cooked, great concept and excellent value for your money, without saying that the sauce with the meat is 5 starts, I had the chance to eat at the Relais de venise in Paris and New York and now in London that great the menu... Happy to return, even expecting to queue for lunch, lucky got in immediately. Simple unchanged concept salad with walnut, entre cote and fries and the famous sauce. Professional waitresses, requested cooking followed to a tee. Bleu my favorite and I am often disappointed not today. Fast service, second helping of meat and fries, very welcome. Desserts awesomes. Salad sauce maybe... More

Went to this little treasure of a place with an ex-colleague (now a client) of mine recently. He suggested the spot, although cautioned me that it is a little rustic, and being an obliging fellow who is always keen to find new spots, I went along. Well, blow me if this isn't an out-of-the-way treat. Steak frites, no possibility of... More

No booking, Crowded: 1pm so expected. I was lucky to get a table for one immediately. Steak Frites is the only dish on the menu and it was spot on with a delicate cream, mustard and mushroom(?) sauce. To my surprise after I had finished I was offered part two - same again - but I was only able to... More

I've eaten at the Geneva branch many years ago and have always wanted a return visit. Whilst that is in the cards in June the opportunity came up to eat here so we did. I was not disappointed. Service was fine and fast, food was fresh and desserts were lovely. It's incredibly busy but we fortunately barely waited for. Table... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
