We went for afternoon tea during the December holiday season. The room itself is warm and welcoming; nice fireplace, wood panelling, comfortable chairs. I asked for a pillow for my back and was given one immediately. The food is very tasty. The sandwiches were yummy and there was a good variety. We did ask for a couple of extra ones... More

My ex and I have enjoyed afternoon tea at browns at Browns on a number of occasions and it is consistently a joy. From brilliant service to very enjoyable afternoon of treats. I would highly recommend a visit.

Lovely, traditional surroundings, curious staff and a delicious afternoon tea makes the perfect place to meet up with friends. The Tea Room has a lovely atmosphere at Christmas time.

Well worth visiting this excellent hotel. Food and service are excellent. The afternoon tea is wonderful and compares well to The Savoy which I have visited twice for tea.

My son and his partner have invited me and other family members for the last 5 years to enjoy high tea every Christmas eve. We have the same seats each year and the cakes and delicious scones change each year, bringing new tastes and textures. There are a range of teas to choose from. We have always been given a... More

I wanted to experience afternoon tea during my trip to London. There are many places that are cheaper than The English Tea Room at Brown's Hotel but you won't get the service, quality, and memories that you will at the Brown's Hotel. You get a menu with a few tea tray options. The tray comes with 3 tiers and a... More

Our family of four really enjoyed the experience. It was a beautiful setting over the Christmas holidays. We opted for the Champagne (of course)! Fabulous experience. The service was attentive and not stuffy at all. Walked over to the Burlington Arcade for shopping afterward. We will be back. Thank you!

Everyone has raved about tea here and their famous scones, so I've been salivating ever since. I've waited almost 10 years for a return visit to London just to have afternoon tea at Brown's Hotel. Unfortunately the scones weren't to my liking and the tea sandwiches and sweets were just OK. I've had much better. But they do get kudos... More

I was dissapointed with my afternoon tea at Browns. The price point is similar to Mandarin O and Selfridges but the experience and quality is not even close. The food was ok but the service was terrible. I had to constantly seek out staff rather than them checking on the table etc. Maybe I'm comparing against other quality places in... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
