If you are going to the National Theatre, make sure you dine before or after the show at House, one of the in-house restaurants within the building. The menu offers a mix of unusual dishes such as Portland crab dumpling & bisque, Duck ham &...More

We had a delightful supper after a show at the National Theatre in its own restaurant, House. It's stylish with a very relaxed atmosphere. A very varied venue with lots of tempting dishes, catering well for vegetarians too. Great staff....attentive but not overly so, and...More

Fifty-five years after the first production and over forty years since moving into its home on the South Bank, the Royal National Theatre is still going strong. Its initial brief was to present world classics (from the Ancient Greeks onwards), keep the great plays of...More

Amazingly, this gets better and better. Eating after a matinee seems to make the meal really special. There’s no need to leave the building for a special supper. Highly recommended.

Great theatre, right on the Southbank. This is a great venue in every respect. Good location, great acoustics, easy lines of sight, comfortable seats, efficient queues, good food, and wonderful productions. We loved Follies. If you enjoy Sondheim try to see it before it closes!

Could not fault the lunch or the service. Food very well cooked and presented. The £22.00 for the set 2 course menu represents outstanding value. Well done National !

A fantastic mix of squash, fennel, aubergine, onion, garlic, heritage carrots roasted to unctuous, sublime perfection. A smear of exceptionally good hummus made for a silky, nutty undertone. Crisp kale leaves (is...More

This is how to do it (Chichester please take note). Deservedly packed, outstanding dishes were the smoked haddock soup, a luscious panna cotta, and best of all the bone - in steak, 14oz of perfectly grilled and juicy meat with a rich savoury peppercorn sauce...More

Needed a quick warm meal last night before a play for three of us. Expectations not terribly high given the numbers queuing and the pressures to get people through before curtain up but I'd honestly say that I'd come again play or no play. The...More

Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a
thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National
Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the
reasons that Southbank is such a collectively
cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly
activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized
river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo
Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and
