After locating our theatre in the rain, we just did a quick look around for a restaurant and found Brumus--bright and welcoming and offering a pre-theatre menu at a reasonable cost. We found the young staff warm and engaging and quickly selected soup and an entree.Lovely cocktails and attentive staff almost made up for the rather bland food. The sorbet... More

Whoever decorated this place is a genius. It is a varied space, filled with different seating styles, with generous and comfortable seating. The colors, patterns, and art are eclectic but somehow all blend and complement each other. I've been for afternoon tea, dinner with the family, and drinks and dessert with my husband. At all times the service was very... More

Trying to find a table for afternoon tea on a Christmas shopping Saturday was seemingly impossible, but eventually The Haymarket Hotel came good and fitted us in. Although we were rather near the outside door to their Brumus restaurant on a cold day, we were grateful for anywhere to sit down on comfortable seats with a glass of champagne, so... More

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at Brumus. The selection was lovely, a creative take on afternoon tea classics worked perfectly. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. We did not feel rushed and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We will definitely be back for afternoon tea.

We had a very nice experience at this well located spot. Brilliant service by warm and friendly staff. We picked from the set menu and have a reasonably priced meal full of flavours. Fairly traditional fayre but all the better for it. A good wine list helps the evening go with a swing.

I had afternoon tea with my family at Brumus. It was all we hoped for: the right mix of exclusive and cozy, delicious food and we had our own "space" that felt private even though the place was nearly full. I really liked the nice and personal service that made our kids feel comfortable. A special plus for the bathroom... More

The food is such good value for the incredible dishes that you get, especially the set menu. Cocktails are around £10 each but they have so many choices and some of their own creations. The staff really made the visit special for me and my family as they go above and beyond to make sure you have the best time.... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
