We have been here for lunch a number of times now and again it was a success - but do book ahead as at peak times it is busy. The food is light and flavoursome - perfect for a break during a museum visit.

This is a reliable and pleasant spot for lunch when visiting the Museum. Dishes are locally inspired and menus often themed according to exhibitions. I had a lovely shepherd's pie, spoilt only by ill-mannered Americans, placed at the same table. Manners used to be their stock-in-trade, what's gone wrong?

We ordered a 'sharing' meal, which would have been better suited to a pair of pygmies. The longed-for tap water never arrived. We were given free coffee as an apology but what we came for was lunch. These guys have a captive audience and boy, do they know it. Go elsewhere.

Very congenial atmosphere and delicious, original food. I would not normally order a cheeseburger and fries but it was part of the American menu to coincide with the American Dream exhibition and the meat and the fries were outstandingly good (not so sure about the bun!). Service, as always, charming but quite slow. A place to which we return time... More

Christmas present from my son was Prosecco afternoon tea at the British Museum. It is a lovely venue but we were plonked an a very small table beside the entrance which was very noisy. After asking we were moved to a couch in the centre of the restaurant. The waiter explained what we were getting and the choices of tea... More

I had a small plate of scallops with a side of small potatoes. Both were perfect. The scallops were tender and sauced with a delicate and flavourful cream. Service was attentive and welcoming.

Had lunch today in the Court restaurant...Excellent service..food lovely and fresh...Prices are a bit punchy..but I thought it was worth it.. My only critisism was the wine measures..they only do small, then it jumps to a carafe then a bottle..Shame because the measure was too small and a carafe would have been too much for just one person....I woulda liked... Last Monday myself and a friend had planned a London Walk trip around the museum with a guide - brilliant - followed by an afternoon tea. We had acquired a Groupon voucher for the prosecco afternoon tea and when booking chose the 4:30 slot which was perfect to fit the end of the walk and allow nice time to relax... More

Sooner or later in most visitors' trips to the British Museum, you need at least a cup of tea and some cale! The noshes provided are very good. There were a number of sandwiches on conventional sandwich bread and also on rustic loaves. There was a beautiful little salad that included fresh greens, edamame, roasted sweet potato, roasted bell peppers,... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
