Really enjoyed our afternoon tea at Butlers in the Chesterfield. We had a later booking so ended up with the place to ourselves. The kids really enjoyed the food and drink and the waiting staff were friendly and accomodating. Was very pleasantly surprised to be offered refills on everything (food and drink). We will be back (especially with the golden... More

We enjoyed our afternoon tea at the Chesterfield. Our boys (7&9) started off with a chocolate milkshake and kids coloring book packs. Their plates of golden eggs, sandwiches, sweets and scones arrived along with a Wonka bar. They were offered refills of everything including the milkshakes. My husband and I had the traditional tea with mine being gluten-free. The food... More

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was poor to the taste of the theme. The service was hit and miss depending upon which member of staff it was. The service of Marius and Joshua was stunning. These two members of staff are worth their wait in gold. Joshua greeted with a lovely warmth and attentiveness. Marius was charming in his salutation.... More

I ate here as part of a group of 12 in March 2017 for dinner. We were given a long table with plenty of space for all of us, which is unusual for London! The restaurant atmosphere was perfect - not dark/noisy like you often find, relaxed, and staff were very efficient. We all chose the '3 courses + champagne... More

Absolutely amazing experience! Both kids and adults were up for a real treat, and we loved it. Fantastic service - above and beyond. A special thanks to Marius.

My friend and I were wandering through Mayfair and came across this hotel. We thought it looked 'old-world' and elegant so decided to head to the bar for a drink. We ordered a glass of champagne each and they served it with a trio of snacks on a gorgeous little tray. We sat back in the plush chairs and managed... More

Thought we would give this a second chance as the first visit was not the best. Food was very good but felt we had been put in a corner and forgotten. So was disappointed again. Sorry to say we won't be returning

"Listed in Tattlers restaurant guide 2007 under the Best of British section, Butlers Restaurant is part of the Chesterfield Hotel just off Berkley Square in the heart of Mayfair. The décor of rich reds and greens with English oil paintings is perfect for romantic dinners as well as being superb for discreet business meetings. The Sunday lunch in Butler’s restaurant is still a firm favourite, where you can enjoy succulent rib of beef from the carving trolley or a delightful trio of crème brulée. Staff are friendly in a relaxed yet formal atmosphere.

What’s cooking? Modern British fare such as calves liver and bacon with caramelised shallots and mash potato or whole Dover sole grilled and served with sauce hollandaise, witch is famed for being the best in London. Some real old time tempters for desert such as sticky toffee pudding, honeycomb ice cream, butterscotch cheese cake, all made by their own pastry chef."

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
