We had an excellent meal here. Our server Anthony Britto could not have been any move helpful. He was knowledgeable about the menu and was more than happy to cater to my husband's dietary needs.

Visited the restaurant with old friend. We’d been wanting to try a top curry house for a while. It did not disappoint. A little crowded but food was excellent. Went for the tasting menu and matching wine flight.

My wife loves Indian food and we always also try new restaurants, but she always wants to return to Jamavar, when we're in London.

We were in London catching up with a friend and booked some restaurants over the wkd. After a little research we booked this Indian Restaurant and it did not disappoint. Great location, great interior, excellent service and most importantly the food was 10/10. First class....Best meal we had all weekend. We opted for the tasting menu and all were sublime. Left the pairing wines though and bought by the bottle after looking at pairing wines (always better value albeit you don't get to try a different wine with each course). Highly recommended and would definitely go back. Biggest tip would to definitely request upstairs restaurant , I don't think it would have been as good an experience had we been downstairs (feels like a bit of an add on). Other than that... all very very impressive.More

We had a booking for my sister's birthday at 21:30. Upon arrival the table was not ready and we were shown to the bar downstairs. We had some cocktails and by 22:00 the table was still not ready. No one came to see us or...apologise and we had to chase the manager every 5 minutes. Once we were seated, no one again apologised for the delay but the service was ok. The food was a hit and miss and overall very average. We were shocked to see that there was no gesture towards the bill and the cocktails were all charged, even though they made us wait 30 minutes. Don't see how they have a Michelin star. The restaurant and atmosphere though are beautiful.More

I came to this restaurant to have a nice dinner after a stressful day of losing my baggage at the airport. This restaurant does not want to understand that a traveling guest has lost their bags and does not want pants and refusing to serve....A dress code is understandable but a restaurant like this should understand that if i have enough money to fly to london and stay in most expensive hotel that they can take an exception for this truce of situationMore

When I last visited Jamavar I predicted it would gain a Michelin star, which it did and which it fully deserves. The food here is more or less perfect, great flavour and great use of spice. Even desserts are a very high standard in Jamavar....Service was attentive and extremely friendly. A faultless Indian dining experience that should be visited by anyone visiting London in search for the best Indian food the country has to offer. I can’t wait to return. A must visit.More

I am all in favour of restaurants charging customers for a no-show. I get it, they have an empty table which they probably don’t fill. However, to have a 48 hour cancelation period, especially during COVID, and be 50 pounds per head, it taking this...good idea and making it a whole new and unfair source of additional revenues. I called at lunch to cancel dinner because my wife is ill, maybe COVID. We don’t want to infect the whole restaurant so we stayed home. No excuse is acceptable to Jamavar however, 100 quid gone, and I am sure they resold the table given how hard it is to get in. Simple exploitation that gives the industry a bad name. Yes, I agreed to the terms, but they were unreasonable. Buyer beware - wolves at Jamavar.More

Wow! This was our first visit to a Michelin starred Indian restaurant and I really wasn’t sure what to expect. We started with some fantastic cocktails and ordered from the (very reasonable) four course lunch menu (£49 for four Michelin starred courses in the heart...of Mayfair!) Honestly was wondering if we would come out hungry! We not not have worried! Four courses of absolute perfection. The flavours were just incredible. Just the right amount of heat (although I’d be cautious of the tikka chicken dish if you don’t like hot food), impeccably balanced spices and exquisitely cooked food. I was glad that my husband and I chose different dishes so we got to try even more! We shared the curries at the end which was great. We were super full and actually struggled a little with dessert! If I went back I think I would skip on dessert and get some extra naan to mop up all of the delicious curry!! Service was top notch as you’d expect. There were some reasonably priced wines on offer and my husband really enjoyed the IPA.More

We were prepped by other reviews to be shuffled downstairs upon arriving on time for a 630 reservation, not their busiest time. Sure enough, we had to push to be seated in the brighter main floor area which had open tables. Alwasy a poor way...to start a fine dining experience. The meals were nothing extraordinary, though the recommended prawn appetizer was noteworthy. Our third Michelin star experience of the trip, the service was well below the level of other comparable restaurants, largely due to a lower front of house staff/patron ratio. Amazonico, a block away, was a far superior experience. Try that instead.More

My friends and I had dinner at Jamavar last night. Such an incredible experience. Place was packed and food was delicious. The stone bass melted in the mouth, lobster dosa was so tasty, lamb chops juicy and tender.....I can go on and on. Not one...dish I wouldn't recommend. Every bit deserving of its Michelin Star!More

We came from New York and have a short time here. So deciding where to eat was a big decision. We wanted one great Indian meal and decided on jamavar. I thought one Michelin, looked like a nice ambience. Done. Sadly we were seated in...a tiny basement. Completely a contrast experience and mood as the main dining room. Bright lights. Super low ceilings. VERY crowded seated. Views of the kitchen. No music. 180 to the upstairs main dining floor. I don’t think that’s a one Michelin experience. At all. The food was good yes but no meal experience is without the influence of your environment. We just wanted to get out but was so hungry. I’d urge everyone to ensure it’s a table on the main dining floor. Otherwise the food alone is not worth the price to be sitting in a basement where they didn’t bother to ensure it maintained the same environment and standards. Shame.More

I had dinner with my wife at Jamavar in June 2022. We arrived a few minutes later than our reservation time, which was not a problem and we were promptly seat. The waitress was great, very attemptive, explained the dishes we had questions about. We...both had their signature drinks which were very good and they had a good selection of wine by the glass (my wife likes white and I prefer red which makes difficult to order bottles, so glass wine selection is important for us). The food was delicious, well presented, service was relatively quick and once we were finished we were able to finish our wines without being rushed out. Only two points were that our table was too close to the payment station so here was a relatively high traffic of waitress and it is a bit tigh, but none of this compromised our experience.More

Again I don't know. Vegetarian yes, but I don't recall any jain dishes. On the face of it I would think that they don't serve jain food, but they could potentialy have a jin menu if you ask for it.
