We've eaten at The Muffin Man many times and we're always pleased with our meals. It has become increasingly popular which isn't surprising, especially when the two local hotels down the road charge around £15 per head for breakfast. I have enjoyed poached eggs on toast several times at The Muffin Man, and their cappuccino is also very good. I... More

My family and I stayed at a hotel about 2 minutes away from the Muffin Man so we ended up having breakfast there at least 3 times during our stay. The prices were very reasonable and the food was good. The scones weren't the best I've ever had but they were good and they filled me up. My daughter had... More

Had breakfast here during our recent trip to London, the food was great and service really good and the price was half that of our hotel. The choice was extensive and freshly cooked to order

We spotted the "muffin man" on a map and despite having no particular fondness for things muffin, we took a detour off the main drag to arrive at this little gem. Cooked breakfast with freshly squeezed orange, hot buttered toast, choice tea or coffee and a cooked-to-order hot breakfast that was better than home made. If you're staying in a... More

We had afternoon tea here, the cost of which, if I remember correctly, was about 10 pounds. For that, you get a pot of black tea (no choice of tea given), cucumber sandwiches, tomato sandwiches, and a slice of cake. The sandwiches were dry, alas, and the fillings were quite skimpy. The slice of Victoria sponge also had me gulping... More

Situated just off Kensington High Street, this cosy little tea room offers a good selection of light snacks, afternoon tea and the breakfast looks very good too, also at a very good price!

The Muffin Man is hard to describe. The best I can think of is a small place with big offerings. We have gone in to have tea and coffee. They offer a fine selection of teas and the coffee is first rate. They also have a great selection of desserts and sandwiches. I am amazed at how much they can produce... More

Four of us had a full English breakfast to set us up for a busy day. The breakfasts aren't too large, and would not be considered cheap in NE terms. The service was good the food good quality and nicely presented. Atmosphere warm and friendly it is easy to see why this place is such a local favourite, would recommend... More

I had breakfast many times in this place while visiting my daughter in Kennsington. Is one of my favourites and I like the cosy atmosphere and typical english breakfast. The girls who are serving are on busy days a bit nervous but when there is normal activity they are prompt in their service. I too prefer to have my breakfast... More

25 years ago, this was my favorite and it still is! The cream tea is affordable and so tasty! If you need a bit more to eat, you can order a sandwich and a cake…perfect. The room is small and it might get busy…but we found a table for 6 right away. Be aware - they take only cash…odd in... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
