Steak was so over grilled ans staff was so arrogant - it surprise me, we have stayed for few hours and have had a desert. Nothing special about this place. The tomato soup was water with trace of tomato and the steak was over grilled. Even if the menu says 28 aged steak - nothing special about it. Anyone can... More

In the docks and looks very quaint and the interior matches. Very old world pub like. Drink prices OK, it is London, menu of the day, 2 or 3 courses advertised outside but we had to ask for a menu which after saying there was no menu of the day, it was found. OK choice but not large portions, adequate... More

I have been to The Dickens Inn on a number of occasions for drinks and in the pizzeria. Most times I have been impressed and enjoyed the pub. I visited at the weekend with friends and ordered some food at around 3pm on Sunday; the pub was busy but not overly so. Our food took around an hour to arrive,... More

I have admired this pub from outside on a few visits to London. Decided to go for a late afternoon Sunday meal. you have to decide which floor to go to as each one does a different menu. We didn't have a lot of spare time so chose the ground floor bar as it looked like quicker food. The menu... More

Extremely busy but a great atmosphere in a building that wouldn't look out of place in the Swiss Alps.

Such an iconic name for a pub in an outstanding location but it is let down by some of the meals on offer - had the "honey and soy glazed salmon, served with wilted pak choi, edamame beans, tenderstem broccoli," very insubstantial for the price but other meals were better in terms of quality and quantity. The toilets on the second... More

Always pop in here when we're down this way! Such a lovely pub and always busy so was surprised we got a table for 4 of us on Saturday afternoon... lots of charm in this pub and atmosphere! Never eaten here but have drank! Highly recommend :)

The Dickens Inn, opened in 1976 by a grandson of Charles Dickens, is a reconstruction of an 18th century three storey balconied inn. The 120 ton timber shell, tailboards and ironwork were salvaged from an original 1700s wooden spice warehouse which stood nearby. There are three floors and you can eat in the Tavern Bar, the Grill or the Pizzeria.... More

Very attractive inn, seems all the more unusual due to its location. Ideal if weather is nice enough to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We dropped on for February it was a sunny day so a glass of lager to rest our legs for half an hour was much enjoyed. Usual frantic London pace so be prepared for... More
