We celebrate the Chinese New Year at this recommended (on web) Chinese Restaurant. We enjoyed our fried lamb, fried prawns, steam fish bass and vegetable. However we think that the pork (sweet and sour) was not so fresh. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for The Chinese New Year! The staff was partially helpful for us when asking for hot water... More

Went here with girlfriend to celebrate 5 years since we first met. Service was very good throughout - friendly but never overbearing. Food was very good - we both went for the set menu and everything was to a high standard, and I enjoyed everything including a couple of starter options I'm not always a fan of at other Chinese... This used to be one of my favourite restaurants but has gone downhill over the last year or so, my recent visit will be my last. The service is overbearing and the food comes out suspiciously quickly making me think at least some of it is preprepared/preheated. All of the vintages/years on the wine list are incorrect and some of... More

I visited here and I will never ever visit again. The manager and his side kick are the most rudest people I have ever come across, so stuck up and only bothered about the big groups of people that are spending lots of money. We chose a set menu and they decided to give us different dishes from what was... More

Hadn't been for ages and was delighted to find it as good as ever. We were a group of 7 (4 adults 3 kids) and ordered a menu for 4 plus extra duck, pancakes and rice - it fed us amply. Attentive and pleasant staff and plenty of space. Will be back again soon as the food was really excellent.

Food was amazing. That's the mark of a great restaurant. But what was more amazing was how quickly they rectified an order gone sour..too sour to be precise. Which is what the hot and sour soup turned out to be. But once we complained, all four bowls were whisked away with no hesitaion, new orders were taken individually and different... More

Maxim in west London is one of the best for gourmet Chinese anywhere in the region. They offer classic as well as specialty dishes...something for everyone. We enjoyed Peking duck and classic chicken & prawn dishes recently and after a few bottles of wine, ended up closing the restaurant...again! It can be lively and busy so make sure you reserve... This is really good quality food, far superior to most Chinese restaurants in London. The meat is really tender and the vegetables are fresh and not over cooked. Friendly but not over-bearing service, Maxim's provide a really pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended.

Went with family for a birthday party. The food is really good. The restaurant offers a dessert for birthdays. The manager also sings a happy birthday song to the birthday person and is really funny.

Went expecting a treat at the end of the week- had fabulous food and service in the past- but was most disappointed tonight. The prawn toasts in the starter were the highest point of the menu. The Peking duck was dry - usually my favourite part of the meal. Hubs enjoyed fish main course but we were put off by... More

Description
Maxim is a family run restaurant, since 1974. In Ealing it is known affectionately by its customers as "Mrs Chow's", the lady in charge of the cooking, who believes in using fresh and natural ingredients. We serve authentic Peking Chinese cuisine with traditional starters from satay chicken to sweet-and-sour won ton to our, 'Signature: Spare Ribs'. Followed with our, 'Speciality: Aromatic Duck, a classic of its kind with crisp golden skin and tender meat. Or push the boat out with a whole lobster, halved and served with ginger and spring onion sauce. Side dishes like glossy, crispy green beans are equally good. Finish with deep-fried banana and apple, the crunchy coating giving way to soft, fluffy fruit.
