This is a great pub for drinking but do not bother with food. It tasted ok but the service and attitude from the manager was horrible.

Good food, great service, nice atmosphere and nicer prices. This place is a real treat - I recommend everyone to try the pork
thank you Janie, the pork is my favourite too, we hope to see you again
I wouldn't be writing this review if it wasn't for one of the waitresses getting stroppy with me. We were a table of four: we ordered at the same time, but paid separately. One of the roasts arrived 20 minutes before the others, which I...More
Went for a Sunday roast to the Royal Oak with ten friends. We were asked to pre-order the week before, but when we arrived the veggie option (which five of us had ordered) had been changed from mushroom Wellington to roast butternut squash and beetroot;...More
Hi I am so very sorry I came across as abrupt and you didn't get what you originally saw on the menu and pre ordered , Unfortunately the vegetarian dish was changed on the day. The new dish on the menu was shown to you...More
The outside is not inviting but once you go through the threshold , you get a much cozier feel. Food is nice and if you go any day other than sunday (market day) you can easily find a table. In summer they also have a...More
Visiting locally , I called in on Friday 29th to find a heaving happy bar, oozing charm and camaraderie! Although I was on my own and elderly I was treated with courtesy and humour! Having my favourite ale on tap - Cowcatcher- may have affected...More
i used to drink in this place for years. it's such a shame to see a decline in a once great pub, that they no longer value their clientele. its a place where they will always get footfall, so losing a few customers is no...More
The behavior of this customer was so rude, abusive and unacceptable they were asked to leave and anybody who acts like that I would ask the same.
Visited here with my boyfriend and friends for his birthday. The service is awful, after sitting upstairs for five minutes I asked for a menu only to be told "I'll be with you in a minute, we have quite a lot of people were already...More
there is no excuse, it was a bad day for the waitress and we were having problems with the burger and have changed it since but still no excuse I am really sorry
The woman who served me was the rudest person I've ever been served by. I asked her to hold my card to reach the ten pound minimum, itself a loathsome but acceptable evil, instead she added 50p to the bill and put it straight through....More
this was the most stressful insanely busiest day of the year, with everyone wanting to pay for one drink on a card but I am sorry that we didn't keep our cool
