Lonely Planet suggested this lovely old pub, and we went there to have a fish&chips on a Sunday eve. Food was good, staff nice and visitors a mix of locals and tourists. Try the George Inn beer as well!

This is one of the last surviving horse coach inns in London, now turned restaurant since 1557. Located just off the London Bridge and into a quaint lane, we wanted to experience this restaurant so steeped in history. Famous patrons to this establishment were Charles...More

As owned by National Trust this inn has been preserved well. No straight lines and serious creaking stairs and floorboards. Staff friendly Good choice of ales some local. Busy at times so be prepared to wait. Only had a drink so cant answer about food.

The George claims to be the oldest pub/inn in London. I don't know if that is true but it feels really old but has a great staff and friendly clientele. We stopped in while walking around the area. It is close to the Borough Market,...More

Very nice historic pub. It offers outside courtyard dining or inside dining on second floor where we dined. Food was good and the ale bring offered that day was also nice. We had the meat pie with mashed potatoes and the barbecue short rib and...More

I attended a function here on a Saturday afternoon in the bookable, and very nice, Winchester Room, just above the downstairs bar. The Timothy Taylor Landlord ale was on top form. The buffet food for the function was lovely too: little packs of fish and...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some
time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved
browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest

I would imagine so as they have very large courtyard open to all. For certainly, just give the George a telephone call.
