Lovely food, very different from the usual North Indian fayre in Leicester. Certainly worth a visit.

Nice restaurant and good service, the menu is limited and it’s not a traditional Indian restaurant as you can’t get normal dishes, no chicken madras and no naan breads, the sauce is also very watery although still tasty. The portions are also small.
Visited the restaurant after a while only to find out that the food quality has deteriorated. Paneer was rubbery chewy, fish was stale, chapati were probably store bought and not freshly made and lamb curry did not have chettinad flavours at all. Ambience remains good...so does service but sadly food let’s it down!!More
This is a great restaurant. Very clean and lovely ambience. The music is a treat. The service was great. The waiters really do listen to what you want. I ordered a Veg thali, and I requested couple items more, and they kindly brought me. Its...amazing that you can choose from either Kerala style thali or Tamilnadu style. The thali had rice and also roti. You can choose the dessert you want as well. The waiters made sure we were happy with our food. My one complaint is that the menu says '4 vegetables' in the thali, but there was only 1 vegetable. But they also brought me 'Kaara kulambu' on request that was not on the thali originally, which I feel is very kind of them. The Rava dosa was bit burnt, but I think that was just one bad apple in the bag. We were surprised by the bill, it was very reasonable. We loved our visit there, soon will go back again to try out their non-veg items.More
Fantastic good value food and very friendly staff. Service very prompt enabling us to make travel connection from nearby railway station. Thanks
My wife had been craving a South Indian Thali and we found Chettinad restaurant online and went to try it. Having many bad experiences with Indian restaurants, I warned her not to expect authentic flavors as most places they water down the flavors to cater...to a larger demography. We were warmly welcomed by Ashwin and we placed our order and the young lad advised us that we were over ordering and helped us in menu selection. The starters and the Thalis were perfect to the point. It's the same as if we were eating in India. 10/10 for keeping the authenticity. BravoMore
Just had a meal from here. Pretty poor to be honest. It was like a chicken curry with loads of nutmeg and cinnamon in it. Chapatis we’re like popadoms
Had a fabulous meal here. Marsala dosa was lovely. Different type of menu I’m used to but thoroughly enjoyed it. Drinks very good value. Will visit again.
Decided to try this place out because all the great reviews. We were very disappointed, got the meat and veg thali, for the meat one only got some soup that had one piece of lamb which was mostly bone. My dosa was soft and even...the roti was not freshly cooked, it was reheated and dry. The portion sizes were really small, two of the curries were like water and I only had 3 prices of paneer in another curry. Dessert was the smallest gulab jamun I’ve ever seen. It’s really not worth the money and I wish we had just gone to our regular Melton Road to have a freshly cooked hot crispy dosa. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.More
I had high hopes for the restaurant considering large number of positive reviews. The decor is appealing. The customer service is good. But ultimately the restaurant is judged on the quality of food. As a person of indian origin I know what good south Indian...food tastes like. Food quality is extremely poor. Portion size is very small. The food was not fresh. Extremely disappointing!More
Really lovely food with friendly and attentive service. Excellent prices for tasty and delicious curry. Very impressed with the total bill and atmosphere. Id go again.
Delicious food - some of the nicest chettinad style. We had the Marravalli Kilangu Poriyal, Chettinad Platter and veg thali, both, quantity is good, plenty of food
Delicious food, Arif was lovely and so helpful! We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
Found this restaurant on Google, and as I’m a big fan of South Indian food I thought I’ll give this a try. Go to be honest, was a waste of time. First of all the service was terrible, had to wait ages for the food...to come. And then when the food came it was terrible. Not one dish tasted good, the chapatis we ordered were dry and seemed like they were made a while ago and left on the hot plate while they were cooking our dinner. It was like eating cardboard. An absolute terrible experience I would not recommend this to anybody. Usually when reviewing restaurants I tried to find something positive to say. In this case, I am lost for words…More
I am a great fan of Chettinad food because I am from that part of the world. Recently I visited this restaurant in Leicester. I must say it is scandalous to call their food Chettinad. It doesn't even remotely resemble that great tradition. I also...took a take away. It was supposed to be a dry preparation of cuttle fish. I was shocked to see a few kalamari rings in a sea of watery gravy. I was deceived and disappointed. I will never go there. KumarMore
