Popped in for a quick lunch, service was quick and food good. Nice choice of bistro type stuff - wraps etc, nothing revolutionary but done well. There is seating upstairs as well.

Excellent coffee shop in the heart of Leicester's cathedral area. A stones throw from the King Richard III visitor centre, it serves award winning coffee, fruit juices, cakes and lunchtime snacks and meals. Offering gluten, dairy and wheat free options - it has something for everyone in a spotless, tastefully decorated and comfortably stylish environment. Whether hunkered down in low... More

If you're going to be in a service industry the very least you have to be is polite and you also have to offer great service. This place has neither a polite host or great service. Almeida is akin to stepping into a medieval dungeon for drinks to be greeted by the executioner with his axe in hand. I cannot... More

A great little coffee shop, handy for the centre of town. Always lovely foo, a warm welcome and the best coffee in Leicester. Much better than the chains.

I have been going to Almeida for 14 or 15 years, whenever I'm in town. In its favour is that the coffee is *usually* (but not consistently) good, and I love their toasted sandwiches. The prices are also good and haven't increased dramatically in the time I've been going. Sadly, there is the negative, too. Even though I've been seeing... More

Called here on a trip to Leicester, and it was my first visit. It was a small café with small room downstairs and another upstairs. There was a small and pretty courtyard at the back. There was a large menu with choice of paninis, rolls with large range of fillings available. There was a good choice of cold drinks- I... More

Lovely coffee. Lovely snacks. Charming, hardworking lady. Free Times newspaper and free, old men's and ladies fashion magazines. The man clearly has very severe difficulties relating to customers in a positive way and I suggest he attends a counselling course.

I've been to this cafe a few times and it is over priced for what you get. I find the man behind the counter rude at times, not sure if that is just how he is. They have good homemade stuff and always seem busy... But I think the service is questionable :( shame really. They don't serve anything with... More
