Ordered rib eye steak. It was very tender and nicely cooked. It came with chips and veg. I would have preferred mushrooms and grilled tomatoes and proper onion rings. (The ones we got were frozen). The chips and veg made it a bit dry. But the steak was nice.
We have been coming here sporadically for a long time and come all the way from Newcastle just for the food and the fantastic service. We have never been disappointed. Today was no exception and Ben behind the bar made sure myself, my husband and our 3 year old daughter were well looked after and served before the kitchen became... More
Family and dog friendly pub with very good value meals. Sunday lunch was amazing very generous with the meat portions. Friendly staff and easy to park outside worth a visit
Reminded me of work canteen ! Fat tastes awful on the chips - my gammon was a slightly strange colour and just not what we were looking forward to after a very long walk. Standard nothing to get excited about and embarrassed that somewhere in my home county serves this to tourists spending their hard earned cash ! Sorry we... More
Love.y dog friendly pub in Keswick with great food. I wasn't very hungry so had a starter of whitebait with a side order of chips, which I couldn't finish! They were scrummy though! OH had chicken leek and ham pie, which he said was delish, he ate all of it plus my remaining chips which he also thought were excellent.... More
We have eaten here a few times now and never been disappointed. Good hearty plateful and nice choice of Real Ale after waking the hills. Only a10 minute walk out of the town centre but if you drive, it's free road parking unlike in town. The open plan pub area is split into dining room - (bookable) and we think,... More
We visited this pub restaurant for the first time with relatives and to say we were pleased would be an understatement! I saw a stout beer on the bar, named 'Oyster', the barmaid fully and accurately described what turned out to be an excellent stout! There were a number of local bitters on tap along with the normal larger and... More
We came back to Keswick for husbands 70th birthday, and, although we love the Pheasant decided on the actual night of his birthday to eat elsewhere, and just have a meal here on the first night of our holiday. A mistake to say the least, we were quite disappointed with the meal in the bistro, much preferred our meal here,... More
We will be booking a table for 2 nights in a couple of weeks, one of the nights being our wedding anniversay. We have studied the menus on your website, are the menus up to date? We would be wanting a table for 2 people on Monday 1st June (our anniversary), and, Thursday 4th June, presume we will need to book them about 2 weeks in advance?
Looking forward to visiting The Pheasant and dining with you.
Are you open tomorrow evening? What time do you open? We are booked for the Theatre by the Lake and must be in our seats by 7:00pm. We could be there at 5:30 22/01/15
