The Pheasant Inn has long had a very good reputation in Keswick, and we finally got to try it last week for a birthday meal. By all accounts it is always very busy, so we called ahead and booked a table. We were seated in the off-shoot dining area, which had a nice traditional feel. One negative comment I would... More

We visited the Pheasant Inn on a Sunday evening with friends, having booked as recommended by our B & B hosts. The menu offered a very good selection but we decided to try the Beef pie as it had been recommended by another guest at the B&B. We were not disappointed, it was delicious. The staff were friendly and polite.... More

A log fire, great beers and tasty food, very reasonably priced. Polite and friendly staff too. I would recommend booking if you want to be sure of a table. Dogs are welcome and there is a bowl of water at the door for them.

Stopped for lunch on the last day of our mid week break. Lovely cosy bar and restaurant. My husband had Cumberland sausage which he thoroughly enjoyed and I had a beautiful fresh ham salad platter with mustard. Would definitely return here.

My wife and I and my cousin went here for lunch. The fish pie and the cumberland sausage were great and the desert superb. The service was prompt and attentive and the log fire kept out the winter cold. Will be going again.

Visited on a Saturday lunch time.. arrived at 1.45 to see a sign saying food only served till 2... quickly checked with a member of staff if we could still order and the response was 'if we were quick!'. We sat in the bar.. we both ordered the beef pie which was delicious.... as were the veg and homemade chips...... More

Hi I am so sorry you felt our staff treat you different to if you had been "local" but I feel I must point out that 75% of our diners and drinkers are tourists over the year. As you can see by our other reviews our staff are normally very pleasant and accommodating to everyone therefore I am finding your... More

We were cold and tired and hungry and this was the right pub to be in. Lovely and warm which was a good start and the main courses were delicious but the sweets were so darned nice I ended up eating two and I don't even have a sweet tooth. Prices were very reasonable too and we couldn't fault the... More

We tried this for the first time after reading the glowing comments on TripAdvisor. Food was filling and hot and arrived quickly after our order, but we thought it was fairly unexceptional - even the much praised fish pie. A little disappointing after the great write up it had got. However, the service was good and quick and the bill... More

Lashing down outside with horizontal rain meant a quick run in without looking too much, the log burner was on and fairly busy for a Tuesday lunchtime. Beer was local and lovely and the food was typical pub stuff and very tasty, it's on the way in to Keswick just off the A66, so pop in of passing.
