lovely views, lovely service, friendly staff. Smashing cup of tea, cake and tea cakes. Table was sticky, shame there are so many stairs to climb to get to it.

Thanks for your review Lesley! With the view we have we need to be at the top of the shop :-) Unfortunately that does mean a few stairs. Sorry about the sticky table, I'll pass that on. Victoria More

Lovely home made cakes and a great cup of coffee for a mid-morning break caps off a morning shopping for souvenirs in Keswick. Don't know why all the mountain equipment shops don't have their own café......

Lovely wee cafe inside George Fisher shop. The carrot cake was the best I've ever tasted. There were soups, sandwiches cakes etc, all home made. I enjoyed so much I bought the recipe book.

You wouldn't expect an in-store cafe to be anything special, so I was very surprised by this place. There is a great deal of choice on the menu, plus more on the specials board. I had the grilled goats cheese which ended up being the nicest meal I ate all week, and we only went in for a quick lunch!... More

We have eaten here previously and found it excellent, and yesterday was no different! The setting is good, with great views of the fells from the windows, the staff are some of the most friendly and obliging that I have ever met, and the food is excellent. The portions are generous too - as you would hope if you've spent... More

Not sure if Fred, our chef, would like to here his Cumbrian Rarebit described as Welsh! (particularly after the Rugby World Cup results at the weekend!) Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit - thanks for spreading the word. Regards Andy More

What an excellent cafe at George Fisher, really friendly staff and knowledgable too; my wife is gluten and lactose intolerant and the staff took time to check suitability of the food. The broth was really good and my wife had a really nice salad, prices were reasonable and the cafe has a great feel to it. Well done to all... More

Stopped here for lunch, and had a very enjoyable meal. Portion sizes are very generous, setting is good (although up at the top of the shop) and the service was first class.

Always good value, honest, tasty food and drink. Our regular, reliable lunch destination. Never had a bad meal yet. Service always pleasant and polite. Not a large café so avoid peak times or be prepared to wait- -a sign of its popularity. I recommend the chicken broth!

The recommendations are not wrong. The food at this place is excellent. Enjoyed the smoked chicken and creamed leeks lunch special and chicken linguini-both were fabulous! Large salad accompanied both and the bread delicious as well! The girls running the place couldn't have nicer or more polite. I recommend you give this place a go-simply delicious!! It's inside the George... More
