Firstly, to say that this is staffed by apprentices and catering students is really satisfying and heart warming, having been a catering student myself some 30 years ago. Well done to the college and the local authority. I can tell you that the college restaurant that I practiced in was nothing like this! Well done, what a fantastic platform for... More

Thank you for your review it is always so satisfying to know that our guests have enjoyed their meals as well as knowing that we did our best to look after them. Robert and his team of chefs are always willing to cater for dietary requirements and go the extra mile. The apprentice's in the kitchen are really doing well... More

I have visited this restaurant on a few occasions and never been let down by the cuisine it offers. I thought it would be ideal for a special birthday treat for my two daughters along with a good friend. The meal surpassed the previous visits and I would place this as the top restaurant in Cumbria. The company I was... More

It is a very old building so consequently old inside lots of character, really has not changed in last 45 years ,I used to go when I was at college. Students from local college come to cook obviously supervised, so a bit different all round

Four adults booked in for 7:30pm. First visit, booking easy by phone. Parking close by and a very short walk - then through the door and into a very pleasant setting. Staff were attentive, knowledgable and all looked very smart. Decor is old - it is a grade one listed building after all - with very contemporary art works on... More

Thank you for the review, we are very conscious of the building being grade 1 listed we do try and keep everything in character with the building which sometimes can be a challenge but we are always up for a challenge as we do have a fantastic team behind us. Lunch with very good friends on Saturday in an historic setting featuring state-of-the-art kitchen brigade delivered a stunning gastronomic experience. What's not to like? This is a fine dining restaurant and apprenticeship academy in association with Kendal College and deserves your support. We ate in a private alcove which comfortably seated four. Perfect! The set lunch is to be applauded.... More

Right, the British people are now officially declared moronic. I fly from overseas to visit this restaurant, so I should struggle to get a table here. But I don't.
