Lovely tranquil location sat out at the side of the river, my only complaint was I paid fir an extra topping on my jacket potato but the minuscule amount served wasn't worth what I paid so wish I hadn't bothered the food otherwise was ok

Really disappointing! Visited at lunch and struggled to get seated. Staff rushed off their feet and kept you waiting for ages to make a simple coffee! Children's sandwich was £3.50 and came with no garnish, crisps or drink! It's blatantly obvious that they are milking the location and tourists.

Hello Ben, Thank you for the candid review. It is unfortunate for your expectations that you happened to visit us on one of our busiest days of the year. Easter holidays in Grasmere can be pretty manic and yes, we are running around catching our tails to try and keep up with volume of people that frequent the café in... More

Popped into for a bite. Very nice tearoom. Very clean. Friendly staff. Sandwiches made to order. Don't expect it to be cheap. But very tasty.

Hi Phil, Thank you for the nice comments. I am glad you had an enjoyable visit with us! In regard to your comment on the cost, you'll find it's on par with prices in the Lake District, and in fact, one of the least expensive cafes in Grasmere. I hope you visit us again soon. More

Every time we visit Grasmere, this is the must go to place. We sit out on the patio listening to the river and watching the wildlife, while enjoying a drink and a cake what else could you ask for.

Called in on the way to our hotel. The tea room was very busy and our sandwich was excellent but the pot of tea for 2 just about filled 2 cups.Very mean as everywhere else we went served proper teapots serving 2 cups each. Excellent location by the river.

Hi, Thank you for the comments, and I'm sorry we did not meet your expectation. We normally serve an additional pot of hot water for the tea, which most are quite happy with. I wonder if you were given a single teapot by accident (we have two different sizes). Next time please feel free to ask for more water which... More
