Our first courses were excellent, crayfish in mornay sauce (although it was scalding hot) and mushroom risotto. Mains were a bit mixed though. The other half had the roast beef Sunday lunch. Rare roast beef on a pile of veg and roasties, topped with a Yorkshire pud and served with a big jug of gravy. He was very happy with... More

During our stay in Ambleside we popping into Lucy's on the off chance there was a table for two free. There was no sign saying it was full, or that you needed to book so was slightly put off by the young waitresses obvious amazement that we were asking for a table ! We were left waiting by the door... More

We ate here on 20 April having read the menu whilst walking around Ambleside (where there is so much choice it's difficult to decide where to go). We called and booked a table and were glad we had as the restaurant soon filled. There's a very good range of dishes, and some you can order either a standard or smaller... More

We often stop here for lunch when in or near Ambleside. Food always good, service with a smile, good value for money.

Had a wonderful meal at Lucys, welcoming and quirky. The meal was incredible and the menu offered unique dishes that showed "skill and taste" as advertised. Everyone welcome from families to couples dressed in their rambling gear or suitable for a fine dining experience. Added touches such as the daily personalised menu were special and the service attentive. No negative... More

The food was great but we were let down by the service. We had to wait 45 minutes to be sat down. One of the waiters was very unhelpful did not catch his name but was a tall guy. We asked for a water couple of times never arrived. I felt they were only looked after big tables didnt care... More

Absolutely brilliant find, well worth a visit. Very accommodating staff, friendly. Top tip, try the shin of beef. Talk about melt in the mouth! Very reasonably priced. My first visit and will definitely be back. 10/10

We came here on a rainy Easter Sunday lunchtime. It was very cosy and welcoming, nice tasteful décor. Thought it would be heaving as most places were but was pleasantly quiet. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely, I had the lamb tagine and it was hearty, delicious and warming. Kids and husband were happy too.
