This is something a little different and a delicious alternative to the other cafés in Ambleside. It’s only a small place, located on The Slack, just down from Market Place. Friendly owners Ani & Robert are offering homemade Far Eastern street food delights with good coffees & drinks too. To start with we tried the Curry Puffs which were delightfully tasty. We then had the Singapore Noodles which was really nice and the Sticky Pork Bao Bun which was really unctuous. Both dishes were generous portions. This is my new favourite place in my hometown of Ambleside.

So glad we found this , tucked away from the busy streets, this really was a fab find. We ate everything on the menu given it was quite small! Great prices, authentic homemade yumminess. Curry was the star, and the bao buns were delicious. Service top and friendly you can tell a lot of love goes into the carefully crafted menu.

A little gem of a place in Ambleside Dropped in for a coffee and hot chocolate and sampled the delicious little custard and coconut tarts. The cakes and drinks were great. Lovely ambience and lovely staff. Prices are also much less than you would expect. Very highly recommended.

If you’re sick of bacon and eggs for breakfast and fancy something different then eat here. The curry puffs were delicious as was our coffee and custard tart. Smell drew us in and we weren’t disappointed. Had we of been staying for longer, we would definitely have gone back for some lunch or dinner. Excellent value and authentic food/flavours made by the owner, Annie, from scratch.

Loved this little family run Cafe/restaurant! Annie and Robert were a wonderful mother son duo, my brother and myself could've chatted to them all day... The food was phenomenal! Annie carefully selected her dishes and always uses fresh ingredients. Just ask Annie or Robert about their dishes and they'll happily explain in detail for you. Overall this lovely place deserves much attention and I hope to visit next year!

We really enjoyed this taste of another culture. The welcome from the team was great and the food was really good. We enjoyed Bao Buns and the Singapore noodles, both were excellent - and well sized as lunch dishes. Vietnamese coffee was also something different!

This was like walking into a friends The owners were very welcoming and attentive it was busy at the time I arrived as there were a group waiting for their food. The gentleman confined this to me and I decided to get something I needed from a shop nearby and return later. When I returned he took my order. Amazing food. Great atmosphere and a they were both really friendly and welcoming. It was great chatting to the other guests and they also enjoyed their food. Would definitely recommend, if there are a few of you or a bigger group it would be good to ring and book. The food was amazing fresh and came to the table piping hot. I treated myself to a home cooked cake and took two away for a treat at home. Just a lovely experience from an outside visual impression which said try me.

I bought a curry puff to take up a mountain for lunch. Very generous portion, and great value. Delicious. The owners were so helpful and I can't wait to go back and try the noodles.

Hidden away in one of the alleys, we discovered this recently opened (April 24) cafe which serves delicious, flavoursome Asian dishes, sweet bites and authentic Vietnamese coffee. Right off the bat, we loved the atmosphere of this place and we found the owner and her son super welcoming, friendly and attentive. The chef was very passionate about her recipes and kindly agreed to customise our order. All the savoury dishes we tried (curry puff, Singapore noodles and bao buns) were fresh, nicely balanced and absolutely delicious plus they had just the right amount of spice for our liking. We also tried the freshly brewed Vietnamese coffee served with condensed milk at the bottom. What a great experience and admittedly, it was the best coffee we’ve tried in Ambleside so far. Really glad we decided to step in. We’ll be back!
