It's a nice place to drink and try all their own brews beers! Nice choice of Gin & Tonics as well. Staff friendly, consequence and tasty meals for the price. But not well organized with the kitchen... If you are not too demanding (only regarding the service and timing of food) it's a really nice place to go.

We were in Canterbury to do the Escape Kent rooms, and had boooked for 1pm and 4pm so popped in here for a bite to eat. The staff were friendly, restaurant was clean and atmospheric. Menu had good choice of food, most of us had a sandwich, which was like a door stop and very nice. My friend had the... More

Shown to a table quickly, friendly staff. Good selection of beers, kept too cold unfortunately, had to give the stout 20 mins before it warmed up to taste. Good menu and good portions. I've seen full racks of ribs smaller than the half rack that was served :) All in all well worth finding

Nice people behind the bar. good location but no phone signal here however who needs that when you've got a sweet juke box and you can drink all of the Biddendens you want?

We came back after our first great experience. Their beers and ciders are really really good. A lot of great variety and each one we tried was delicious. My faves were the Strawberry Sparkling Cider, IPA, and Oak Aged Cherry. They also have an extensive gin and tonic menu. Their food is wonderful as well. The sandwiches are huge, fish... More

Out in Canterbury for the afternoon and looking for something independent and less "High Street". Literally over the threshold and the staff were welcoming and friendly, sampled a couple of their ales, brewed on the premises (in fact you get to sit next to the brewing vessels) topped off with a damn fine beer braised beef sandwich. I get the... More

I was seeking somewhere quiet for lunch, and this proved to be a winner! I suspect that beer lovers would find much to enjoy here, and the wines are very drinkable. The Canterbury Rarebit was simply the one of the best I've had and proved to be an excellent light lunch.

Visiting my daughter at university and wanted to find a decent place to eat. Advised by our host at the bnb we were staying at to try the Foundry. We all had excellent meals and service. I had a meal that any caveman like myself would die for! Beef brisket, ribs, chicken wings, and hidden under my ribs a pot... More

Had. Nice Sunday lunch here, food was ok, nothing special but nice, I had food from bar menu and a couple of things asked for wet missed off of order. Beer however as always is lovely and definitely worth a visit if into your real ales.

We came here to sample their ales & ciders and stayed for a meal. The ales were great, the cider delicious and the food fantastic. The food was exactly what you would expect from an English pub but with a modern flair that elevated it to restaurant quality. If I resided in Canterbury this place would definitely be my local!
