I came here with my family after my graduation for a celebratory dinner. My family had traveled a long distance and we had made the booking months in advance to be sure to get a table during the high season in Canterbury. I had been...More

Loved it when I visited alone - my mother in law is in the area with my partner tomorrow so have recommended it to them, I’m sure they will not be disappointed

With so many options in Canterbury, it's easy to end up eating a less Than average meal. I hope to remedy that. If you want a diverse menu that is gloriously executed in warm and tasteful surroundings, this is a must! The scallops (which I...More

The restaurant lies beside a small canal. It’s very nice inside. The food was very good. The restaurant was full and it took some time to get food, buts that were ok.

Popped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon and expected it to be busier than it was. Pleasant and comfortable building and friendly welcome. Food was good and reasonably priced and I would like to visit in the evening for dinner.

We went this evening; four of us; and a three course meal with wine. The food was good; the wine was good; and the service was good - UNTIL: towards the end we were ‘rushed’ and we were then asked if we would have our...More

Lunch for 5 people. Tasty, wholesome food. Great service - very attentive and knowledgable of the menu. They cooked fresh gluten free food for one of our party members. Restaurant and bathroom very clean. Thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch.

Cafe du Soleil is situated beside the river Stour in Canterbury occupying a former 18th century wool store and is accessed by its own bridge over the river. The building was restored with a grant from English Heritage and showcases the extensive use of reclaimed building material from the 14C city wall. Our cuisine draws influence from Provence in southern France, and from Italy, to create a modern Mediterranean cuisine. The menu changes with the seasons, and much of our food is cooked in our wood burning oven, fed with locally sourced wood from managed forest.
