I like to pop into Canteen when I'm in Canterbury and have a bite to eat. Not too expensive (considering where it's located), with a decent menu of sandwiches and salads of good quality. Staff are friendly and accommodating too.

I come to Canteen most days, their hot food specials for the day are always vegan. They normally consist of a curry or a chilli. Their hummus and falafel flatbread is always a good vegan option. They also often have vegan cookies available. Overall a lovely place to eat lunch and near Canterbury Cathedral.

This place is LIT. Lots of vegan options, even if they are the cliche options like falafel. But the falafel is bangin 💥 and they did vegan milkshakes too including chocolate flavour so they have their priorities right 🍫 a nice place 🔥

Great little lunch place right by the cathedral in the pretty part of town. Not expensive and good quality ingredients. I had the special of the day toaster which was a delicious flatbread with humus, sundries toms, spinach and pesto... all delicious. We'll be back :)

Been here a few times and staff and food never disappoints. Today went mad and had a chorizo wrap and wow it was much more than a quick snack. Great place to eat and not just for veggies ! Well done will be back soon .

Called in for a coffee on a damp Wednesday lunchtime. Menu looked fabulous. Coffee was really good and whole venue is quirky. Much better than going to a big chain for a coffee. There is lots of choice in Canterbury and we are happy we made the right one.

My partner and I recently visited Canteen for breakfast on a rainy Sunday morning. When our breakfast came, we were both a bit shocked (to say the least). Firstly, the bacon was a weird browny/yellow/green colour, indicating that it had been frozen and not properly defrosted. The scrambled 'eggs' consisted of about 3/4 milk and 1/4 egg. And the toast... More

Apologies for your bad experience. We take food safety very seriously and have a 5 Star (the highest rating) from the Council. We always cook our bacon from fresh NEVER FROZEN - so I know you are mistaken on that issue. Apologies the eggs were not to your taste. I have spoken to the member of staff responsible and will... Just three doors to the left of Canterbury Cathedral Gate Canteen serves freshly made flatbreads, salads, baguettes, toasties, jacket potatos and daily hot dish / soup. Everything is made to order from freshly prepared ingredients using local suppliers wherever possible. The building dates back to around 1600 and from the windows you can get glimpses of the Cathedral (particularly from the loo !). It is a rather rickety building so you need to be OK with stairs as our seating is over three floors. We provide eat in or take away food and a large variety of hot and cold drinks including smoothies and juice pressed on the premises. Due to popularity we also now serve delicious cream teas.
