Popped in with my mum, sisters and 2 kids for some lunch this afternoon. It is quite a small restaurant but is set out on 3 floors, it is a beautiful quaint historical building. They have a good varied menu without being overwhelming. I had...More

This was the third time I've been here and the food is normally good value and quality. This time I waited 40 minutes and went downstairs to find they had forgotten about me. Left disappointed and hungryMore

REALLY sorry! Unfortunately we had a member of staff just decide not to turn up yesterday and was too late for us to get anyone else in so we were rather short staffed. Email me and I will send you a free meal voucher to...More

Nice to be back in Canterbury so we can get lunch here. Mexican burrito didn't stay on my plate long enough to photograph..just too good to wait. Great ambience, great fresh food, great service, excellent wifi. Why go anywhere else?

I like to pop into Canteen when I'm in Canterbury and have a bite to eat. Not too expensive (considering where it's located), with a decent menu of sandwiches and salads of good quality. Staff are friendly and accommodating too.

I come to Canteen most days, their hot food specials for the day are always vegan. They normally consist of a curry or a chilli. Their hummus and falafel flatbread is always a good vegan option. They also often have vegan cookies available. Overall a...More

Thanks for your lovely review! We try to cater for all tastes and diets at Canteen be they veggie, vegan, gluten free, low sugar, lactose free, healthy or not so healthy (cream teas with our homemade scones are amazing!)

This place is LIT. Lots of vegan options, even if they are the cliche options like falafel. But the falafel is bangin 💥 and they did vegan milkshakes too including chocolate flavour so they have their priorities right 🍫 a nice place 🔥

Been here a few times and staff and food never disappoints. Today went mad and had a chorizo wrap and wow it was much more than a quick snack. Great place to eat and not just for veggies ! Well done will be back soon...More

Description
Just three doors to the left of Canterbury Cathedral Gate Canteen serves freshly made flatbreads, salads, baguettes, toasties, jacket potatos and daily hot dish / soup. Everything is made to order from freshly prepared ingredients using local suppliers wherever possible. The building dates back to around 1600 and from the windows you can get glimpses of the Cathedral (particularly from the loo !). It is a rather rickety building so you need to be OK with stairs as our seating is over three floors. We provide eat in or take away food and a large variety of hot and cold drinks including smoothies and juice pressed on the premises. Due to popularity we also now serve delicious cream teas.
