We visited Azouma on a couple of occasions a few years ago, before it changed hands at the start of the pandemic and sadly our most recent visit was disappointing in some ways. Previously we had loved the restaurant and the food was excellent. It’s...a shame that you no longer have the little outside terrace at the side of the restaurant as it was lovely to sit there on a hot day. I cannot fault the friendly and efficient waitress service at our most recent visit, nothing was too much trouble and every attempt was made to cater for our specific dietary needs. Service was faultless but sadly there were many glaringly obvious things that needed immediate attention. Every table had a vase of dead roses, so dead that they had dried and browned! They looked like they had been there dying for several weeks! Why had they not been changed? That immediately made the table and the restaurant look sad and depressing. Why not swop these for a vase with a candle if you can’t provide regular fresh flowers?. The candles on the table were not lit by the waitress when we arrived and some low lighting and candlelight would have added to the atmosphere as would lighting candles in the lovely colourful Moroccan lamps. Our table and and the floor in the downstairs area were really sticky so clearly had not been cleaned properly. The table next to us could only seat two as the ceiling leaked over the other side of the table! The stairs were noticeably filthy and the decor in the toilets was shabby, unfinished and very dirty compared to our previous visits. The place has clearly not been well maintained or freshened up recently. Attention to detail is really important! The food was quite good but nowhere near as good as on our previous visits in terms of presentation and in the variety of Mezze offered. I’m sure the food was served on colourful Moroccan platters and crockery previously rather than just on plain crockery? It’s such a shame as we used to love this restaurant and would chosen it over and above any of the other restaurants when we visited Canterbury before. Please try to spruce it up, clean it up and pay attention to all of the details, it wouldn’t take more than a day just to give it a really good clean! We hope that you can bring it up again to its previous standard as we really want this lovely little restaurant to survive and do well into the future. Although I have been critical I offer this as suggestions for improvement and hope that it will be taken as such as we do dearly want you to be successful.More

The food was absolutely beautiful. The best meal out we've ever had!!. Our nearly 1 year old also really enjoyed it. The meal are a generous size and defeated us and we had packed up to take home. The restaurant itself is lovely with very...friendly and helpful staff. Can't wait to go againMore

On the plus side an authentic looking Moroccan restaurant and smiley pleasant service. On the negative side very disappointing food, meat dry, starter tasty but very small for the cost with no bread to mop up the juices and food well overpriced for what you...get. They also do my pet hate of charging more for half a pint of beer than half a whole pint. A rip off. Wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.More

Had a fantastic dinner and impeccable service tonight. Full to the brim! The flavours of the tagine were out of this world and the lamb just melted. Portion sizes are extremely generous and so delicious. Highly recommend!! The lovely waitress, Abby, was friendly, helpful and...very knowledgeable about the menu.More

Served warm wine and had to ask for a cooler. Table was sticky and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. Then after taking our order they informed us no chicken wings, no rice, the main ingredients of our dishes and offered no...alternatives, we left. Very disappointingMore
