Had a couple of decent breakfasts here and the steak was decent. Beer was ok and staff were pleasant enough,

This was our third visit, first post Covid. The instructions on the table said we had to order via the App. Downloaded said App. It took ages to order meals for six people. It wasn't particularly easy to use and when the steaks came they...had no vegetables. First time I have ever ordered steak and chips that came without so much as half a tomato. Apparently to get the tomato and maybe a mushroom, you have to order the Gourmet Steak. Staff were thin on the ground. There appeared to be three of them. When we suggested that insisting on the App was possibly ageist we were told they were aiming at a younger crowd, who would be happy with the App. Looking round the almost empty restaurant where most people were not young, we wondered why that was their aim, because it wasn't working. The steaks were tough, but the other meals were OK. The wait for drinks and food was short and the staff were pleasant. No one asked 'Areyouhappywithyourmeals?' so presumably that isn't a consideration. The building is lovely. It turns out you can order drinks, including tea and coffee, at the bar. Does it feel Covid-safe? Not really. Will we return? Probably not.More

Came for dinner after work with a colleague. Ordered a round of drinks then ordered dinner and more drinks afterward, still sitting here now after 45 minutes waiting for our first round of drinks while the staff are standing at the bar having a laugh...with each other not serving anyone everyone around us is getting up and leaving. Worst Wetherspoons I’ve been to and I work all over the country.More

Visited here on our rounds of Wetherspoon pubs. Lovely pub with loads of character, really nice outside area and friendly staff - BUT remember there are Covid rules in place and the precautions allow these sorts of venues to stay open. Unfortunately a fair number...of people were ignoring the wearing of masks (young and a few older). The staff were ignoring this, including the duty manager who elbow bumped one of the youths not wearing a mask at the time (not sat down). 4 men in a group in and out & back in no mask + bloke walking round no mask and a couple of girls no mask all unchallenged. This was approx 8.50pm on the 11/10/20. So this can be confirmed by camera footage if someone is actually bothered. We want the bars to remain open, we eat out regularly in spoons all over the country and stick rigidly to the rules. Unfortunately (staff) by not acting you are sealing your own fate but is us all that will be paying for your furlough pay and older people and the infirm that will unfortunately suffer as a result. A real shame as just reminding people of the rules at the door and making sure they actually have a mask is probably all that is needed. £200 fines for each person not following the rules, at least 7 within the short period we was there. We left early as we didnt feel safe even though there were few in the pub. This is a serious virus that has killed well over 43,000 people in just a few months and it needs to be taken seriously.More

I thought this was one of the nicer looking Wetherspoon bars. Most are stinking and in old bank buildings but this one was in a nicer setting They seem to be rule compliant at the moment with scan and trace on entry plus ordering through...the app saves time and hassle. The food i had was hot and the beer tasted just as fine I do wish they wiped down tables more often and quicker but that’s my only fault on this visitMore

I don't think that courtesy comes into it nowadays. A lot of places do not issue receipts by default. More environmentally friendly apparently. It is up to the buyer to ask for a receipt if they are not given one. What on... More
