We always enjoy the restaurant at The Cock, always happy to go, but the service in the bar is now dismal. Unsmiling staff, slow to collect glasses, incorrect orders. Perhaps barkeeping is not the greatest job in the world; if so, don't do it and...More

We visited this pub for a Sunday roast. Lovely old pub with an open fire and initially we had very good friendly service. We didn't have starters and the roast dinners were very good if a little on the small side however, we ordered desserts...More

This was our first visit to this pub. My sister lives locally so my partner and I visited for the weekend and we had an evening meal here with her partner. Lovely venue and the meal was very nice. Trouble is we compare to Northern...More

The food was well cooked and the service was good. The adjacent bar was very noisy, but this is a restaurant in a pub. Comfortable and clean and above average cuisine for a pub, but this is reflected in the price of the meals. Booking...More

Lovely food and loved the attention to the details... Was waiting a bit to long for our starters or mains but it turned up up to be worth it. Didn't expect so good food in a pub/restaurant... Will definitely go back...

Stopped by to view a soccer match and have a pint. Stayed late, enjoyed the conversation and food at this historic pub.

We visited at lunch and ordered a lamb burger with tzatsiki and a steak sandwich with horseradish sauce on ciabatta bread. Both were delicious. The burger was presented well with a fried onion ring on top. Cost was around 10 pounds each. Good selection of...More

Dating back to the 16th Century, The Cock Inn remains one of the most popular pubs in St Albans. We are known for our great food, real ales and extensive wine list. In winter we have a roaring log fire whilst in summer we have a fantastic heated garden offering a little oasis of calm in the centre of St Albans.
