This pub is situated right opposite the Cathederal grounds with beautiful views of the small square in front. It is all wood and open fires inside( winter) and an upmarket pub for luncheons and wine and craft beers/ ales. I love it, and me and my husband are here regularly after a trip around the shops/ market. It can get... More

Founds this place after wandering around Winchester, never been before. The menu was a bit limiting however the food was nice- I had the seafood dish. The portions were a bit too large for us, definitely couldn't manage more than one course. Would return if the menu was a bit larger.

We used the park and ride off junction 11 just off the M3 and took the shuttle bus into town for £3. We met with four other friends at the old vine. I chose the lamb shank as I have been having eating fish for the last few weeks travelling the Far East in fact I got back just the... More

We were in Winchester for the weekend or a tour of the Bombay Sapphire factory tour, which was fabulous and well worth a visit. We by chance spotted this venue during the day and booked it for dinner. Ambience was great, food was fantastic and it was very reasonable for what you had and location. Staff were very friendly and... More

Good pub menu choices, close to the cathedral. Service was friendly and good. Booking essential during peak times. We didn't and were lucky to get a table in the early evening

It was busy but the staff were still very friendly and accommodating even though they were rushed off their feet. Food was nice and not too expensive either. Nice menu too.
