We visited at lunchtime on Saturday, a very frie ndly and attentive guy with tattoos attended us, He invited us to discover the special menus and enjoy the restaurant's food. , the most curious thing is that the staff is totally a family of Brazilians...or Portuguese, obviously we will return on our next visit to SouthamptonMore

Fabulous place but do book. We sat outside and it was warm as they have heaters. The staff are delightful , the service great and the food delicious . They even booked a taxi for us for our return journey. It’s a small venue but...full of charm. Thank youMore

Really enjoyed the food, service and local beer at Piccolo Mondo. Great range of vegetarian options and excellent service throughout the evening too. Small but feels really authentic.

A tasty meal, very good portions and charming staff - even the chef steps out of his tiny kitchen to lend a hand with service! A pity it is so very cramped due to number of tables in very small space and this makes it...slightly uncomfortable and claustrophobic, particularly if there is a large group dining and tables have been pushed together using up a lot of the limited space. However, it has a pleasant and authentic atmosphere. Would like to see a cheaper bottle of house wine on the wine list. A few of the items on the menu seem a bit pricey but overall this place offers value for money and is pleasant to experience.More

We discovered the place last year whilst staying overnight in Southampton. We've now been three times in total. Authentic (italian) family run restaurant, just like the ones you would find in an Italian side street. Very good food at reasonable prices. Wonderful staff. It is...quite small, but it's always busy, so be sure to book in advance.More

Doesn’t look much from the outside, but don’t let that deceive you as the food packs a punch of robust Italian goodness. About £17 for a main but generous portions. Staff are friendly and helpful. Has outside seating as well as cosy tables within. I...would say book ahead to avoid disappointment.More

Visited Piccolo Mondo on Tuesday for a meal to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was absolutely lovely. They do super gluten free options. And the staff are wonderful. The weather was hot and I managed to complicate things by fainting. All the staff could...not have been knder. They looked after me so well. Thank you to you all.More

Lovely authentic Italian food. My partner and I had a amazing meal before attending the mayflower theatre. It was very busy and there were not many tables. We hadn’t booked but they were so accommodating and squeezed us in , which they didn’t have to...do. The food was really flavoursome and very reasonably priced. We had a great meal, would definitely recommend!More

This place charged £11 for a 175ml of wine and £4 for half pint lager. A complete rip off. We will never go back. Our friends can't believe what they charged. Bad news travels fast.

Every time I want to go out for dinner the first place that comes to mind is Piccolo Mondo. The food is absolutely amazing (big fan of pasta) no matter what I ordered I was never disappointed. The service is always on point no matter...how busy it gets and the staff make you feel truly welcomed. One thing I can say is that the quality of food and service is always 10/10, for that reason I decided to celebrate my birthday there with my partner and it was a lovely night. Thank you for an amazing night and for all your hard work! We'll definitely be back for more delicious food.More

We booked a table for a pre-theatre lunch; when we approached the restaurant I was not hopeful however, we were well served with some excellent pasta and the nicest sorbet/ice cream combo that I’ve had in years. A real find- will certainly be returning.
