The title of this review is "Excellent" that is what the food is. I have reviewed this restaurant on numerous occasions. Good food, nice staff. What more can I say.

Been coming here for years and we pop in more often than not when visiting Portsmouth. It's reasonable fish and chips at reasonable prices but not special. The chips have been fried to different standards from visit to visit so the inconsistency makes it a hit a miss, but to be fair never been bad.

Right by the Gosport ferry on the hard this good value chip shop is distinctive by it's blue frontage sign. Quick service used by locals and tourists alike. My only gripe was not Pea fritters. Clean and friendly.

Our traditional visit was lovely again. So fresh and tasty. Will be back in a few months no doubt. We share a large portion and it's perfect.

We choose this place to eat due to its close proximity to the train station and Gunwarf Key and weren't disappointed. Though the surrounding area looks pretty run down, The Britannia is a really nice sit down Fish & Chip shop where the food is cooked fresh with a good selection of fish and pies etc, including a kids menu... The staff are friendly, the restaurant itself is clean, and very neat. The fish, that's a diifferent matter. I ordered a cod and chips for table service, the portions are generous, but the fish was bland and tasteless, the batter limp, soggy and very oily. The chips were ok, and the can of 7 Up was also warm. Did l... More
