My family and I love coming here and recommend it to all. Our firm favourites are the chicken and mushroom pasta and the spicy meatballs. The takeaway service is great for a quick, easy and delicious meal at home. Portions are very generous and staff are really friendly.

Good food with authentic flavors at a very reasonable price! A bit difficult to find but worth it! Perfect for a quick lunch and you can even take away.

We came out of Cavendish House to be confronted by a keen employee of a nearby bank who happened to be promoting mortgages, it was pouring, we had no need for the bank's services however we started chatting, did we know a good place for lunch? W e were taken to La Scala good fresh food, privately owned, excellent. Thank... More

Just off the Upper High Street in Cheltenham, walking away from town, you pass the Everyman Theatre; keep going for about 300 metres and you arrive at this unassuming deli/ Italian eatery......walk down the stairs and enjoy the delights of authentic Italian cooking - spicy pastas, halloumi....a feast...and all very reasonably priced

"Best restaurant ever" according to 4 year old daughter. Best antipasti plate I've seen in a long time. Four adults all very impressed with meals and free and very delicious pannetone with our coffee. This is going to become a regular on our visits.

Set in a basement just down from the Everyman theatre, this is a lovely Italian deli/restaurant. Only seating about 25, the food is wholesome and freshly cooked. Grilled sardines and turkey breast with lovely cranberry and port sauce in Italian bread for a tenner. Excellent for a Christmassy lunch with friends. There's Italian wine too but a bit pricey which... More

This is a little gem, tucked away down a few steps, right in the centre of Cheltenham. An unpretentious little Italian restaurant. We went there today before going on to the Everyman theatre, just 5 minutes walk away. The service was excellent and the atmosphere very friendly and pleasant. I had chicken and mushroom pasta served with a very nice... More

With a motto of 'great service, quality goods and value for everyone', La Scala Delicatessen certainly sets the stakes high - and luckily for the discerning foodie, it delivers on every count of its promise. As if this ethos was not attractive enough, the vast array of wonderful foodstuffs adorning every available space will soon have your mouth watering. The quality of the produce is obvious - from the shining gleam bouncing off plump olives and the rich smell coming from perfectly matured cheeses, to the sound of crusty bread being wrapped in rustic paper.Whether you are on a rushed lunch break or simply enjoying a languorous browse, there's plenty to feast your eyes upon at La Scala. There are some delicious snacks and more filling main meals to be had, all available to take away. If you are heading back to the office, add a little indulgence to your desk-dining with an open sandwich of poached salmon with fresh salad and a balsamic and lemon dressing. Alternatively, you may enjoy a tapenade, goat's cheese and sun-blushed tomato panini, or perhaps a sandwich filled with beef in a spicy tomato sauce. The salads are healthy yet hearty, including combinations such as avocado with mozzarella, baby tomatoes and mange tout, all laced with La Scala's house dressing. Of the hot dishes, the smoked bacon and Cheddar pasta bake is a winner, as is the pesto pasta with salami, mozzarella, black olives and tomatoes. If a snack is all you are after, there is a fabulous range of antipasto on offer, including cold cuts of meat, peppers filled with feta, olives in various marinades, stuffed vine leaves and of course a selection of fresh bread. If you want to spread some La Scala joy among your friends, the hampers make lovely gifts, and are also perfect for posh picnics. Your only problem will be picking a selection of delicious delicacies, as everything from La Scala is packed with flavour and unbelievably tasty.
