Booked a v last minute few days away. Hotel check in was lovely, all the staff really pleasant. We were located in the Coach House which was just next to the hotel. Room was fine and bathroom had plenty of Elemis bathing products which was a nice plus. We were booked in as B&B but if you can get a rate without the breakfast then do. It was far from adequate for an adult, and each morning we both requested toast we got just one slice each! Couldnt fault anything else, nice outdoor seating but we didnt use any other facilities.

Me and my husband stayed a night in this wonderful, atmospheric hotel. Our room was full of character and we had a magnificent view out of the front of the hotel overlooking the Main Street. There is a beautifully kept large garden in the back with a marquee and plenty of seating. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. In the morning we were greeted by a friendly face showing us to our seats for breakfast in the restaurant area, breakfast was really tasty and was hot. We were offered more toast and teas and coffees. Ashley, the manager has done a fantastic job with the hotel together with all the staff. This is a lovely hotel with plenty of character right in the heart of The Cotswolds.

This place needs to work on a few things.... 1. Customer service and customer experience. There was one lady who was working in the garden who was excellent she was friendly and helpful, but others were disengaged. They didn't ask if we wanted sauces or if our meal was ok, which I would say is standard practice. So recommend staff training. 2. Service was extremely slow. Took 45 mins for mains to come out and they were a little cold. People who ordered after us got their food about 15 mins before us. 3. Overpriced!!!!4. couldn't get tap water or hot drinks as we were sat in garden! So good job I didn't order a cream tea! Staff were standing around so could have easily poped to the bar to collect. 5. Food was ok nothing special. Fish cakes were billed as salmon and coriander however seemed to be a serious lack of coriander. They were very bland. Buger could do with a homemade bread bap, as bread let it down. Much better places on Bourton to eat.

Went today and had extremely slow/ poor service. Took 20 minutes for someone to take our order and then a further 45 minutes for the food to arrive. The food was poor, deep fried frozen beigeness and the fish cakes were 95% potatoe. Even with the 50% off it was still expensive for what we received! Also they only have one toilet for the whole restaurant - so a further queue of 15 minutes for that and nothing available to disinfect the seat etc. I understand it’s a busy Bank Holiday with help out to eat out on top of that, but this is no excuse for poor communication from staff and naff food.

Wonderful place to stay. Comfortable, clean rooms, good parking and lovely friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was very tasty and there was a good system to book a timed slot to prevent overcrowding in the breakfast room to comply with social distancing. The location, set slightly back from the road but in the village centre couldn’t have been better. We hope to return again.

Beautiful and historic house in the centre of Bourton on the Water. For us it was ideal as the weather was awful ( Storm Dennis! ) with the welcoming reception area offering a roaring fire. The staff are friendly and helpful. The weekend was a success despite the weather thanks to the location of this hotel close to the various pubs, restaurants and individual shops. Add to this the essential trip to the Motor museum ( a must if you have a husband like mine who is car mad), again a few steps away from our accommodation. The room we had was a small double (typical of booking.com) and I think there are much superior rooms available. Ours however was cosy and adequate, very clean and a lovely en-suite with nice touches such as Elemis toiletries and a jacuzzi bath. Not bad. Lovely hot shower and good comfy bed. The breakfast is superb and offers a great choice. The service is also super, friendly, polite and attentive without being intrusive. Only marked down by one as there is no option for dinner and this would make it perfect in my book.

We had the best restaurant experience at the Dial House. The place looks picture perfect and cozy. We asked if they had any vegan options on the menu and the chef came out to walk us through the menu and offered a veggie galette that was off-menu on Sunday lunchtime. That one of the best vegan meals I’ve ever had it was so so good. The chef is lovely and very talented. Me and my two friends loved the place, really enjoyed the food and the lovely staff. Thank you

We had the most wonderful stay at The Dial House ! Only disappointment - our fault - was that we had one night only, so will definitely be back ! Our room was super relaxing and comfortable. Lush bathroom with an enormous bath And a separate shower. The bed and pillows were so extremely comfortable and made us realise how rubbish ours are lol. Everything was very clean, both in our room and the wonderful room where we had our breakfast. One x full English and 1 x poached eggs on toast which were 10/10. We were given a really nice welcome and all staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice area for sitting at the front for tea and cake etc. and a pretty garden with a big seating area at the back which is a bit more private too. Plus point : plenty of parking. Thoroughly recommend a stay here : x

The setting is beautiful, but for £250 you just expect a little bit more…. The room was in the coach house, and as we were on the ground floor, we heard everything. Very basic room. Bar was a massive teepee in the garden, and pricing was expensive. In the morning we had breakfast, which I thought was included in the cost of the room, but was an extra £70 for 4 people, cold mushrooms, overcooked bacon, very wet scrambled egg. Ok, unlimited coffee and cold toast. Staff were really friendly and if I had paid half for everything, I think that would have been a fair price…

The Dial House is a superb location and has the potential to be a beautiful dining experience, unfortunately that's where the positive part of my review stops. I ate there with my friend on Saturday, I asked for water and was barked at with 'I can only do one thing at a time', suffice to say I was fearful of asking for anything else or mentioning that the food was only luke warm. An unhappy staff can break a place and a happy staff can make a place. Whoever owns this, please try make your staff happier, that in return will make customers happy.... happy customers tell others and write good reviews....

What a gem of a place. The tipi was warm and beautifully decorated with velvet sofas, feather cushions and big tables for larger groups. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. The cosmopolitan cocktail was lethally delicious but the absolute star of the show was the food. We completely over ordered with 4 different small plates which could have easily fed 3-4 hungry people. The food was so good we couldn’t stop eating. If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a delicious meal and a cocktail or 2, which is also good value then look no further. We loved it!

My husband and I were visiting Bourton on the water for the afternoon and went to the dial to see whether we could have lunch. The outside tables were full but would have been happy to sit inside. One of the servers just looked at us and said that the kitchen was closed and wouldn’t reopen until 6. I was surprised as it was only 1.30 and the signage outside started lunch was served until 3. We went somewhere else nearby and I could see other people arriving and being given tables and menus. They seemed to be getting their orders taken. It seemed racially motivated though this could just be how it seemed to me.

A starter of baked Camembert Cheese was filling, if a bit un-artful, but then we opted for the Hamburger and it was the worst hamburger either of us had ever had. Neither of us ate more than two to three nibbles of the burger. When the server took our plates and asked how everything was I told her. She took the plates away with the uneaten burgers and said nothing.

We came midweek and pleased we were able to get a table. We both has starter and main. Starters Pate and Fishcake, mains: duck legs and salmon. I'd say the menu looks simple, but rather understated as all dishes were nicely presented and well cooked. Restaurant does have a cosy feel to it, service was good and I'd certainly recommend.

We popped into the Dial House for a light snack and drink. However, they had a promotion of two courses from their a la carte menu including a glass of wine or beer, all for £25. We decided to try the promotion. Fantastic value. What a great decision. Excellent food and presentation. Good service and nice staff. See photos.
