We dined here the other night. I should say I have eaten here many times before and never had a bad meal. This was no exception. Great food, lovely ambience and we will be back again soon.

RESTAURANT'S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 9 March 2017

With delightful views over the Brede Valley this lovely pub was very welcoming. The lady who greeted us when we went in was friendly and helpful with a good knowledge of the menus. Impressively our drinks were served to us at our table. It wasn't busy but the service was good. An excellent variety of meals to suit all appetites... More

We had a short break over the Easter holidays in Winchelsea. On the first we looked up restaurants nearby and found the Plough. Best decision we could have made to start our short break. Excellent hot food. Friendly and prompt customer service. 5 stars with ease.

Has a good feel to the Pub. Have been lots of times as a couple, with friends as well as family, including young ones. Have music on occasions, which is fun too. The food is good pub grub.

We visited this pub today after reading the good reviews on trip adviser and we were not disappointed. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by all the bar staff, there was a very welcoming feeling about the place. The service was efficient and served with a smile. The food was amazing I had the vegetarian option of... More

The Plough is a very unassuming sort of place with no hint of pretension, a very friendly atmosphere and a genuinely warm welcome. The staff were all very helpful and provided an excellent service in a relaxed and informal manner. The menu changes regularly and is very varied, but not extensive; we always take this as a good indicator that... More

I took a group of 8 up to the plough in Udimore last Friday and I must say it was excellent. The atmosphere was fantastic, there was live music and the food was delicious. I had the beef burger that practically melted in my mouth. I can speak for the rest of our group and say that tapas was brilliant... More

We hadn't been to this pub for a long time as we moved further away but we passed one day and saw they had Portugese fish stew advertised outside which I've had before and loved. So we decided to book a table for the following evening and drive the extra miles! The boards were still advertising the stew so I... More

One of the best meals I've eaten in a pub, high quality ingredients cooked with style and flavour. Very welcoming and attentive staff who seemed to go out of their way to ensure that you have an enjoyable experience, they certainly achieved that! Would recommend without hesitation.

Description
The Plough is a quintessential English country pub with stunning views from our pond side garden over the Brede Valley with the sea as a backdrop. Situated on the Kent and East Sussex border and less than two miles from the medieval town of Rye, we enjoy a fantastic larder of local produce, from the freshest of fish landed in Rye and Hastings every day, to the wonderful delights from the Romney Marsh such as lamb and beef as well as the best of seasonal vegetables. With all this on our doorstep, we offer a good choice of local beers, ciders, wines and freshly prepared food, from our tapas, to our original choice of freshly prepared dishes and our homemade ice creams.
