Any down side created by the 'Winchester Arms' style ambience, is more than counteracted by the friendliness of the bar staff and the quality of the food. YES this is a pub stuck in the 1970's, BUT the staff and the food make it well worth a visit. The barman cheerfully took my food order despite being close to kitchen... More

Visited with a few friends and family for a pint of Harvey's Best. Very friendly staff together with a great atmosphere and we therefore felt obliged to stay for a few more. A proper pub well worth a visit.

As a family of four we all had different meals - all were excellent. Very reasonably priced, proper pub food without a jus in sight. The service was friendly and the atmosphere relaxed - will be back next time I am in the area.

We ate here on Sunday afternoon having chosen it because of it's good reviews on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. A small, busy and obviously much loved local, it provided really tasty home cooked food at very reasonable prices. Best vegetables I've ever had with a roast. Nice to see too that they source quite a few of their ingredients... More

We ate here on Sunday afternoon. I was pleased with the few ciders on tap as well as the prices; no mains more than £8!! I got the sweet potato and parsnip bake which was good and my husband the lamb leg, which came out not as he expected: cut into pieces rather than the leg itself. A staff member... More

I was touring Lewes for a few hours and stumbled across the Brewers Arms. Staff were great, and the steak and mushroom pie were as food as any I've ever had. A great lunch on a cool day, and I'd absolutely go there again. Highly recommended!

First time at the brewers in 5 years ( I moved away) and still the best pub in Lewes! Friendly, family orientated and a great selection of real ales and lagers! No visit to Lewes is complete without going here. Can't wait to go back!

Very quaint pub, very welcoming, the staff were lovely and made us feel very comfortable, food was delicious and very large portions the only negative is the menu did not have a lot of choice. But the service was excellent and we all enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. We had a very enjoyable evening.

A little family lunch with the folks. Service very polite and he portions were a decent size - lasagne looked great, ham salad looked very decent and I had the Mexican Chilli... Lovely! Didn't get a rating of 5 essentially due to prices of side order - £3 for a side of garlic bread just seems a bit much but... More
